Youngsters Show Promise Against Tough Irishmen, United Fans At It Again With Sneijder Link!

A young Manchester City, aside A Johnson, Barry, Taylor and SWP saw off Irish side Airtricity League XI in the Dublin Super Cup, Bobby Manc rested our first team squad for the game tomorrow against Inter Milan before we take on scum United in the Community Shield.

Youngsters Frédéric Veseli (19), Denis Suárez (17) and Abdul Razak (18) all impressed, though Vladimir Weiss failed to impress me despite the rough treatment he received from a few of the Irish players and Celtic fans present.

I had high hopes for Weiss but since being loaned out to Glasgow Rangers, he seems to have become a shadow of the player I expected to see. I am sure a few of our youngsters will not make the cut but Veseli, Suarez and Razak all look solid.

Shaun Wright-Phillips worked his butt off and got on the score sheet as did Adam Johnson though I seem some what less impressed with Johnson. We clearly lack a winger able to whip in crosses on a regular basis, despite the fact I love a player who as willing to take on defenders I still believe we lack a world class winger.

Until we get a wing man capable of producing killer crosses into the box, then we will not get the full potential out of Edin Dzeko and Yaya Toure.

New signing Sergio Aguero watched the fringe players while sitting beside David Silva, we may yet see Aguero play a small part against Inter Milan if we're lucky.

United's sticky fingered journo fans have been in full swing, suggesting Wesley Sneijder has snubbed Manchester City in favour of United. Truth be told if Manchester were after Wesley Sneijder, then why have we City fans not heard about it considering Nigel Dejong and Wesley are close friends and national team-mates?

If Manchester were to try sign Sneijder then I bet he would jump at the chance of playing along side Dejong for the richest club in the world, in favour of a debt encrusted club who could only muster enough money for average players like Young.

I'd love to see this interview of Sneijder snubbing City for United though, somehow I believe its all a lie.

I saw Rekik at Altrincham last week. Kompany style centre back - very stylish. Suarez is supposed to be a talent and only 16 too. How did he look?

  2. The thing that worries me most about City, is the atmosphere at home matches..Why oh why does the away fans feature so prominently..Why can't they be tucked away in a corner like away fans are at Old Trafford..All the toss about safety is total rubbish.

United only care about their own fans, they could not give a monkeys about other clubs and have proven it many times.

We are one of many clubs that value away fans, they do contribute a small sum to the club. Atmosphere will improve as we grow as a club, though what is important is our already strong attending fanbase.
