Where do they get it from?, that ability to think without common sense, will Manchester City FC ever be stopped from entering Europe is my question and why I think Not is the answer.
Manchester City FC owned by one Arabian Royal has no registered debt with an outside business such as a bank or other business. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan has already invested a large unknown sum into the regeneration program around the City of Manchester Stadium at Eastlands.
There are many other ways of injecting money into a business instead of loans, Sheikh Mansour has also financed a global youth academy project headed by once City youth academy Messiah Jim Cassell.
The Michel Platini Ruling states that any football club not breaking even will not be allowed to take part in Uefa competition, does this or should this concern us City fans?
The only reason City were down £93 Million were due to the large scale player aquisition however with the proposed Stadium capacity increase in the pipeline, ticket revenue will continue to rise and so will club merchandise revenue.
Within the next three years City will grow and Manchester City will break even, three years is a long time and that is why I believe this is nothing for City fans to worry about.
The Daily Mail continue to go on about how most of Platini's ruling is common sense but have failed to see Manchester City FC are not in debt, Sheikh Mansour wiped out any existing debt after purchasing City.
According to again The Daily Mail, Platini's law will not allow club owners to loan money to their club but will this really affect City?, common sense clearly states that Sheikh Mansour can do what ever he likes as he owns the club slash business, and if that means investing more cash into his business then he will find a way of doing so within any law Uefa can muster.
There are plenty of ways to invest without dishing out loans and there is plenty of time to break even, if there is anything I have learned its that the Arabians are shrewd masters in the world of business unlike some Premier League club owners in Trafford.
In my opinion there is absolutely nothing to worry about for any City fan.
CLass post - The Daily Mail has an astonishing vendetta against City for two reasons I can figure - 1. We are foreign owned. I know, it's disgusting, bloody foreigners over here investing millions in local infrastructure, creating our jobs.... and 2. They are a ManU paper. Where is the mention of them in their article. They had to sell Ronaldo last summer for £80m to make a £40m profit, and thats having won the Premier League and finished Runners-up in the Champs LEague (which is financially more rewarding they tell us, as they dont have to pay players winners bonuses.)
ReplyDeleteThe Mail needs to be bombarded by blues on a large scale every day, pointing out the error of their ways, and the lazy journalism that is tarnishing the great name of our proud club. We are not a Chelsea who have no history. It is a truly disgusting paper.
He can by a moonchester teddy for £10,000,000,000 from the club store.
ReplyDeleteDon't think it will be as simple as that, unfortunately. It will be down to our income vs outgoings. While we are having to pay a 'city dividend' to aquire big name players, and pay them huge wages to come to us, we will never be able to cover these amounts with our income - I read that outgoings on salaries were 95% of total income at the moment.
ReplyDeletePlatini is out to get us, to protect the established teams in Europe, and if we do some slight-of-hand funding by way of sponsorship then he'll change to rules to counter it.
At the end of the day, the Arabs have invested in City as a business venture, not for a love of English football. OK, so some of the returns might be harder to measure - i.e. in terms of increased trade with Abu Dhabi etc - but nevertheless, it is a venture aiming to make money. So I am sure with some appropriate accounting, we could satify whatever loopy rules that utter cretin Platini wants to dream up.
ReplyDeleteAt the end of the day, Platini is out to get English clubs. Unfortunately for him, under his rules, as things stand, he would also have to exclude Real Madrid, Barcelona, both Milans, Juventus, Fiorentina, Napoli in fact any Italian teams, Bayern Munich, Lyon, Marseille and quite a few notable others. These clubs aren't stupid. The money comes from the fact that the top European clubs are playing each other and the interest and revenue that generates. If they see Platini threatening to take away the toys, they will simply take the toys and go an play in another room without him and that will be the end if UEFA which would be no bad thing because Platini, as brilliant a player as he was, is a prize numpty running the asylum.
ReplyDeleteThe daily mail has nothing better to do than go around making false claims about man city. Remember a couple of years ago we had sold Richard Dunne and Micah Richards ( According to them ) They are jelous because we are a club going places unlike the rest of the miserable lot of the premierleague.
ReplyDeleteMCFC 4 EVER WE ARE GOING TO WIN THE UEFA CUP AND QUALIFY FOR THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. THIS TRULY IS OUR CITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CITY 4 EVER
I stopped listening to sensationalist attention grabbing headlines some time ago.
ReplyDeletePlatini's comments relate (quite rightly)to any club being promised the earth by backers, managers spending that promised money only to find the backers not only have no money but have run off with the club cheque book. Thankfully City are none of the above as they are not in debt.
