The guy is a glass half full, a complete waste of money and while everyone else tried against Spurs, he just gave us another half hearted performance, does not deserve to wear our colours and is an embarrassment.
With that said I bid Spurs good luck qualifying for the Champions League, as many have already said this was your last chance so make the most of it.
We can now look forward to next season, the capture of some new players and the departure of hopefully some deadwood ala Adebayor. Clearly our defence let us down this season with only Vincent Kompany, Joleon Lescott and Pablo Zabaleta in my opinion worthy.
Nice to see Carlos Tevez come out and reassure us that he has no intention of quitting City alongside Craig Bellamy, recently United blogs have been laughing at the premature propaganda of Carlos possibly leaving City but it seems City have now had the last laugh there.
Have to say Roberto Mancini failed when not bringing in a few more players instead of just settling for Patrick Vieira but I do hope he does stay with City, sick and tired of watching managers come and go.
They all know its only a matter of time before we mount our fight for the title as it is inevitable, that is why it is not much of an issue that Spurs have been given a chance.
Chin up and march on City fans.
Money can't buy everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen we played the same game in 2006, despite the dodgy lasagne, it felt like a bonus to have the chance. This felt deserved on so many levels. after all we've been 4th for most of the season To me, this was the biggest game since the Cup Final of '84 and the '91 final, which on that note, leaves me with one thing to say.......... COME ON FULHAM What a great season. What a great result. What a fantastic team. What a night. COYS

Very proud of our team this year, let Mancini choose his players this summer, but have to disagree with your comment on Adebayor...have you forgot the wonderful goals he has scored for us?
ReplyDeleteDisagreeing is fair enough though I feel Adebayor plays for no one but himself, its like he thrives off critics but when no one is criticising him and he is not center of attention he then goes missing and gives us nothing and its not fair on us or players like Tevez and Bellamy who give their all.
ReplyDeleteSpurs fan here. I have many friends who are City fans and wish you all the best for the future, Iwas already glad that one of us was going to break up the "Big 4", but now glad it's us!! There are many similarities between our clubs (both have sat and watched our neighbours go on to glory each year) which is why I hope the eventually both of us can displace our rivals in that top 4.
ReplyDeleteFair play to Spurs, they deserve 4th place!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAdebayor, Bridge, Toure and Zabaleta can all F.Off as far as I'm concerned.
MCFC!
Oh, and Santa Cruz can F.Off too
ReplyDeleteCity have to be patient. We've had decades of yo-yo-ing between the first and second tiers of English football. We are a massively improved side now. Almost everyone agrees that City will soon be a powerful force in world football. United know this is coming. Well done Spurs, you deserve to be 4th.
ReplyDeletetotally agree with you on adebayor! what a waste of space...
ReplyDeleteCity fans deserve more but your owners and to a lesser degree management deserve nothing if they think paying someone like Adebayor 150k a week is ok. I can understand why you'd pay Tevez a good wage (still don't think he's worth anywhere near the money you are paying) but without the CL you had to pay that to get him. Adebayor to me is a 50k a week player at best. Arsenal didn’t exactly put up a struggle to keep him.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you on Adebayor, Toure and Bridge but not Zabaleta, sure we can get better but he is still a good versatile player.
Another spurs fan here! I agree with your comment City are only likely to get better with Mancini & right players- but not sure that it was our last chance. We are improving in ALL areas & haven't peaked yet. We aren't punching above our weight? I see our team improving- it has mix of youth & experience & we like you will attract & draw better players. So I belief like you we will improve.

ReplyDeleteYou misunderstand, I did not mean last chance full stop but last chance for the next few years.
How do I explain that?, well lets face it Chelsea will become stronger, Arsenal are just one step away from finding new investment which will make them stronger and City have like you pointed out an endless pit of funds.
Liverpool will be back so to think any diferent is just sheer insanity and Aston Villa will also become stronger.
3 Champions League places and 1 Champions League qualifying place totalling 4 places..
Chelsea, Liverpool, Man United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Spurs totalling 7 clubs.
United, Chelsea and City will make up next seasons top 3 unless Arsenal and Liverpool spend big which leaves Aston Villa and Spurs out in the cold unless they can also spend.
United Chelsea and City have the money which puts us 3 in pole position.
To say your club havent peaked yet is a complete farce, without Defoe and Modric you would not be in forth just like City would not be without Tevez and Bellamy.
Truth is City will bring in the best we can but will Spurs.?
Again I have to disagree with you about spurs! And other clubs.
ReplyDeleteChelsea are ageing club & Ancelloti sounding out lots of youth players & Russian reticent with his cheque book- means a possible transitional stage.
Arsenal have potential to improve but Arsene's pride may be his un doing! Many tell him need a goal keeper, CBs, experience midfielder, but he appears to have balancing books equal with quality of squad- will it be more loan deals like Sivestre?
Liverpool ARE NOT GUARANTEED to improve: financially they are in bad way; Rafa is sending out mixed signals; Gerrard isn't happy, neither is Torres. This club of all 7 clubs are the most dodgy. In fact i have more faith in Everton doing better next season.
Villa will improve with investment & O' neil being less negative. But will he depart?
Man Utd, are in financial woes, and Fergie will have to hang up soon, you can never bet against this outfit, but you can only stay at top for so long- and quality players cost money- something United might not have to spend on team building?
Regards us: we had arguably our best player out: Lennon who was flying at begining of season- we have so many under 25s in team. Defoe has been poor this year= pav stepped in and did business. And we performed well with Modric out for a time. Dawson & Gomes- statistically are more important- without these we wouldn't win games much less the 37 to win the 4th spot.
It's not only bringing in the best but getting best out of what you got- this Arry has track record of doing- and Defoe, and Modric have more to give as do others in our Team- there is more to come from this team!
To be fair CityBlue, in that paragraoh before last you are truly talking out of your arse. We were in the top four at the start of the season WITHOUT Modric (he was injured for 3 months, remember).
ReplyDeleteIf you are trying to make us sound like a lucky 2 man team remember that we've also had Palacios out for important games, Kranjcar and Corluka have been injured for weeks, Lennon has been out for FOUR months. King can only play occasionally, Woodgate has been out all season.
The difference we've had this year is strength in depth.
Am i hearing right?, Defoe has been poor?.
ReplyDeleteAre you being serious or are you just supporting your club sitting by a wind up radio?
alot of your players may have popped in and out of injury but they have done so at key moments and made a difference, your all so voluntarily blind when it comes to facts.
You make me laugh, ill not entertain one more Spurs fan that speaks through their backside.
Man United may not be in great shape right now in terms of stability and finance but you have to be stupid to think United are going to just implode in one season.
Chelsea are not going to fall apart just because of a few young players being drafted in, its naive to think such will happen.
Liverpool maybe in a bit of debt but not even half of what United are in and look where United still are, you write off Liverpool way to easily.
All Arsenal need is a little bit of cash spent well and thats all.
If you think keeping a Champions League place is going to be easy for Spurs without big money then your more deluded than I thought possible.
Spurs fan here.
ReplyDeleteI would say stick with Mancini. If you are one game away from your target then he obviously knows what to do. So long as you back him up and keep the board off his back. Stability has a lot of plus points and he knows football. Let him get on with the football side and everyone else just signs the cheques.
Well done to Harry and the boys last night.
City should keep mancini but out all the rubbish like caicedo, benjani, robinho, bojinov, taylor, lescott etc.. But i think that mancini is not to blame because he has inherited a squad and it wasn't his fault that hughes drew so many matches that have had an effect on the present day but anyway city have made me proud to be a fan. How far we have come since i started to be a fan in 2004 and next season with the right players and no robinho we can challenge
ReplyDeleteCOME ON CITY, CITY 4 EVER
