Birmingham To Pay For Lack Of Understanding And Respect, Comings and Goings Of Manchester City

Keeper Crisis Solved

In my humble opinion the goalkeeper situation at Manchester City could have been dealt with better on both sides, for starters City should have put a clause in the contract allowing us to take Joe Hart back.

On the other hand Manchester City showed Birmingham City by not doing so, that they had every intention of letting Joe Hart stay with them for the whole season.

The situation only took a change for the worse for Manchester City when the worst that could happen actually did happen, leaving City with only one goalkeeper to call upon for both first team and reserve team games remaining.

Manchester City are now without 1st Shay Given and 2nd Stuart Taylor with only Gunnar Nielsen our third choice available, an inexperienced Premier League keeper.

David Gonzalez Giraldo is our 1st reserve team keeper but is also injured and our 2nd reserve team keeper, Tobias Johansen is out on loan so that counts those two out.

It seems many other clubs fans are all in a twist about Manchester City being granted permission to take a goalkeeper on loan until the end of the season and they are headed by the very repetitively bias and boring Tony Cascarino but I guess they will just have to deal with it seeing as.

Sunderland's third choice Hungarian goalkeeper has joined Manchester City on loan until the end of the season, the only thing that concerns me is his last game against Chelsea FC.

Birmingham could have done the right thing and in return gained so much more, with City having one of the best two academies in the country.

There would have been a lot of talent to tap into along with the chance of building an extremely close club to club relationship, allowing Hart to return could have also opened the door to him returning to Birmingham for another season but they have let it all slip through their fingers by blocking our attempt to bring Hart back for the rest of the season.

Now we will have Joe Hart back at the end of the season to fight for first choice and Birmingham can go take a hike and find themselves another top class keeper. 'good luck'.

A New Season In The Distance

With the season about to end and a fresh new season and transfer window ahead of us, what do you see happening or want to see happen at Eastlands?

Players I think should pack their bags for good are:

Emmanuel Adebayor, Micah Richards, Javier Garrido, Sylvinho, Robinho, Valeri Bojinov, Felipe Caicedo, Jo Alves, Benjani Mwaruwari, Craig Bellamy.

Players im not so sure about right now are :

Stephen Ireland?, with exception to Micah Richards how can a player go from absolutely amazing to lost would be an understatement. I for one would like to see our very own Superman return.

Players I want back at Eastlands permenantly are:

Valdimir Weiss (loan return) Joe Hart (loan return).

My choice of who I believe Manchester City should aquire in the next transfer window:

Italian RB         (age 23) Marco Motta         6ft1 Roma
German CB      (age 21) Jerome Boateng     6ft3 Hamburg
Italian CB         (age 22) Leonardo Bonucci 6ft3 Bari
Spanish CM     (age 22) Francesc Fabregas 5ft9 Arsenal
Portugese RW  (age 26) Ricardo Quaresma 5ft8 Inter Milan
Argentinian ST  (age 22) Gonzalo Higuain    6ft1 Real Madrid

With these six players added to our squad we should be in the top 3 in the Premier League, all these players have what it takes in English football.

What do you think and what would you like to see happen, who would you most like to see in a City shirt next season?

FootballBlips: vote it up!

Birmingham were willing to let Hart return to Citeh, it was the PL that stopped his return. Admittedly they tried to get compensation for letting him return, but you can't blame them for trying ;-)

Hi mate, I'm a Birmingham fan. Totally agree with your opinion on the Joe Hart situation. We have had our season and can make no complaints whatsoever. It would have been a great opportunity to build up some good links with MCFC and get some of your academy players/fringe players etc on loan!

i think you are talking nonsence, why should brum allow you to take there 1st choice keeper away when your club failed to put that clause in his loan deal? why should the prem league grant you permission to loan a keeper? they havent allowed us to loan a RB, or before when we had dawson, king and woodgate out they didnt allow us to loan a CB and recently they didnt allow us to loan a CM when our only fit one was wilson palacios, just like chelski money talks, at least we all know who the prem league want to finish fourth now dont we, shame you won't though. Birmingham were prepared to let Joe Return on premise that they would be compensated for any financial losses should the team fall down the table without joe - which is fair imo.
However the premier leauge blocked this move as it would set a precedent, also other clubs moaned to add pressure to that decision.
So please look elsewhere when applying blame.
Also finally Manchester City were than happy to accept a fee for the 'SEASON LONG' loan and once you do that then you cannot add a clause for return, so again blame your deal broker on that one.
Finally Joe was not classed as a Top Class Keeper when he came to Birmingham City, Blues coaches and the experience he has gained at Birmingham can take credit for part of that.
Had he of not been loaned would his pedigree have changed much sitting on the bench for Given ?
Think about how much he is now worth compared to the statrt of the season.

    Good luck finishing 4th

Harts return was blocked by the Premier League not BCFC, I would have prefered BCFC to have at least then offered to let Maik Taylor join you on loan as a way of helping you out of your crisis. Admittedly not as good as Hart but still a very good keeper. It would have been fitting if Hart would have joined you and helped you beat the vile and end their 4th place challenge :D

I agree in almost everything here, but why get rid of Bellamy? And why in the world would you want City to have Quaresma? Hes been nothing but terrible in every club he been to outside Portugal.

Lets make one thing clear, This is not a hate article against Birmingham nor do I have any problem with Birmingham. I just think it could have been dealt with better, I would like to see this evidence that the Premier League blocked and not Birmingham though?

Why would the Premier League block a player returning to his mother club?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Premier League rules don't allow release clauses in season long loans.

Bitter Spurs fan - Goalkeepers are exceptional circumstances, surely you understand that?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Anonymous28/4/10

Correct Chris but surely they should allow it.

The readers questioning my Quaresma choice, I understand your comments but Quaresma was hardly given any chance to cement a place on any of his loan ocasions including at Chelsea.

With regards to Craig Bellamy lets just look at it from one angle, hes getting on now and its rumoured he is unhappy so if the rumour is to be true then hes already chosen to leave. Either way I would lve Bellamy to stay but would much prefer Adam johnson progress without hindrance and bring back Vladimir Weiss to play on the right.

You say you would like to see the evidence that the premier league blocked Hart returning and not Birmingham, well i'd like to see your evidence that Brum blocked the move since thats what your claiming.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Anonymous28/4/10

My evidence would be simple logic which says the Premier League would have no reason to block a player returning to its mother club as long as all parties agreed, which leads me to believe Birmingham blocked the return move.

Until I see strong evidence to prove otherwise ill follow logic.

What a shame a reasonable good article is tainted by inaccuracy.

BCFC did not block the return of Hart, the FA did, due to there being rules about ‘season long deals’ and to make an exception in this case would have been seen to give MCFC an unfair advantage over their rivals for 4th, he is after all PFA Goalkeeper of the Year, England’s No. 1 and a damn fine player after the work that we have put into him.

I do feel sorry for you, to think that you have two injured ‘first team’ Goalkeeper’s, one out on loan, one injured ‘reserve team’ Goalkeeper and one out on loan, leaving you with only a full international Goalkeeper to call on (although I will admit, I don’t know where the Faroe Islands are!). What exactly is a ‘reserve team ‘Goalkeeper? Here at lowly Birmingham we have three Goalkeepers, one on loan from you, one 38 year old and one young lad who acts as backup to the other two. These three have to take on all of the duties of a premiership club, so where do you get off crying when you only have one of your 6 Goalkeeper’s available so you need to make emergency plans?

    Emmanuel Adebayor, Micah Richards,Robinho,Craig Bellamy.

these 4 are TOP players i just think you have issues with there actual characteristics and there demeanor the others i would agree.

(The Press are) Wolves in sheep's clothing... SCWID.

  15. Anonymous28/4/10

Theres no inaccuracy here at all other than your own inaccuracy, your own inaccuracy to realise the club you support also have a reserve team with reserve keepers which in actual fact means you have more keepers than you make out.

typical case of someone moaning, first its the Premier League blocking Harts return, nows its the FA blocking Harts return. Forgive for not taking paper talk as fact, show me evidnce to say otheriwse and ill look at it diferently.

there is 3 keepers at birmingham - one on loan from man city, one young kid and maik taylor. maik taylor is the reserve keeper.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Anonymous28/4/10

Birmingham have 3 keepers, Jack Butland, Colin Doyle, Maik Taylor.

On loan Joe Hart makes Birmingham's keeper count as 4.

  18. Anonymous28/4/10

Birmingham City did nothing wrong. They weren't ALLOWED to send Joe Hart back as the FA blocked the attempt. That isn't the fault of Birmingham, it's the fault of the FA.

  19. This is the fault of Cook - the CEO - again! He is the supposed to be the man in charge of deals and should have had a return clause written into the deal with Birmingham. The Premier League cannot alter a contract agreed by 2 clubs - but they can impose their wishes if the contract does not stipulate something.

I am a City fan, but this is our own fault. Neilson is our 3rd choice keeper so why have we signed another "3rd" choice keeper? Lets give Neilson a chance and if we blow it, it is our own fault. I can see the papers now - if we get 4th, everyone will be on our backs about cheating and using Sunderland players - if we don't get 4th everyone will be saying we deserve it because we have been cheating and using Sunderland players. This is another Cook cock-up if you ask me. The man is a liability and we need a professional in charge!

Obviously people have either not read the article right or have forgotten what they read before commenting as I said, the situation could have been dealt with better on both sides.

TBH I never wanted Hart to go out on loan anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Anonymous28/4/10

jack butland is 17, im sure you have a 17 year old keeper aswell why dont you play him instead of writing a waste of time article saying Birmingham wouldnt break a contract sign at the start of the season (the FA blocked the move by the way)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Anonymous28/4/10

So a 17 year old can not play in the Premier League?, im sure you may want to rethink that aye.

Truth is your keepers are pretty much all fit and uninjured aye, but if you were left with just Jack Butland your club would be asking for help just like City FACT.

Who said anything about breaking a contract and if this article is such a waste of time, why are you here ranting and getting your pants all twisted.

Again another selective minded person not reading an article properly, did you not grasp the fact I said the situation could have been dealt with better on all sides?

    Obviously not aye.

At 13:03 - Spurs fans make me laugh. They just haven't got a clue. Firstly, Goalkeepers are treated differently in the rules than outfield players, and the same rule would apply to you.

Also we've had to cope with injuries ALL season, and still are. You also seem to forget that you are a rich club, and always have been. You were the premier leagues top spender after City! For some reason you don't like the idea of City having money too?

What are other fans moaning about anyway we've got Sunderland's 3rd keeper not Buffon.

And the guy who seems to think Birmingham's trainers have made hart the player he is - get real, he was excellent at City before Given came and was no.1 choice. He will be again, he's only young and we needed Given's experience.

I'm not confident on 4th this season but I'd love it, really love it to just pip scum spurs and their hypocrite fans.

Hello, guys I am a Birmingham supporter and I understand Man City being upset by having to go out and loan a player from another club when you already have a Brilliant young fit goalkeeper at Birmingham, but you have to understand that whilst Birmingham city and Man City were negotiating over the return of said goalkeeper the league did put a stop to it and there are many conflicting reports as to why why Hart was stopped from rejoining Man City either the controvercy that may have happened should you finish 4th or whatever it may be.

I wish Man city the best and I feel sorry for the luck you seem to have had with goalkeepers but thats football....

Brimingham tried to get deep deep into Citys pockets making sure no matter what they would get the cash for were they are now !! No way should they even be allowed to bid for him now

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anonymous29/4/10

Hart had raw talent, but little confidence and prone to making mistakes (the reason Citeh bought Given). He was never going to improve sitting on the bench watching - hence coming to Brum and getting a season with a manager who had belief in him has progressed him in leaps and bounds. By the way there wasn't many who objected about Hart going to Brum for the season.

  29. Anonymous29/4/10

what is so very very amausing to me is how all these brum fans are tryin to take credit for makin joe a great keeper!!!! lmfao he was a great keeper at city you delusinal bunch of idiots!! and before you pull the obvious out of the hat " well why did u loan him out then" obviously a great keeper like joe heart is not gonna sit on the bench all season, shay given( if any bcfc fans have noticed this season) shay has given us about 15 points plus this season, and is one of the best keepers not just in the prem but in world football!! and is proven.. please stop hatin on city, envy is not nice..

Ive had alot of insulting and abuse comments which I have rejected and have to say after reading official statements, you are all either naive to believe what papers say for gold or all a bunch of liars trying to evade the truth.

City were granted permission to bring in cover by the Premier League but Birmingham refused to release 'Hart' the talented keeper, a decision that Mancini has accepted.

Birmingham refused to release Joe Hart, not the FA or Premier League, classic case of papers trying to shroud truth to save face for Birmingham.
