It is only the matter of one more season before Manchester City challenge for the Premier League so I would say the pressure is more on tail chasers like Spurs and Villa.
Lets have a look at our last lot of fixtures:
Manchester City: Villa, Spurs, West Ham
Spurs: Bolton, M City, Burnley
Villa: M City, B Rovers
Liverpool: Chelsea, Hull
Currently Spurs are in pole position with everything to loose, for them to walk away with forth spot all they need do is win all of their last three fixtures.
City are close behind minus one point just waiting for Spurs to slip up and stringy lanky Crouch hit it on the head when stating its all down to the Spurs v City encounter but only if City can over-turn Villa first Mr Crouch.
Villa will need both Spurs and City to loose atleast one game to have any chance of qualifying for the Champions League so they be the rank outsiders right now but never say never.
Liverpool will need to win both their last two fixtures and hope Spurs, Villa and Manchester City loose or draw their last lot of fixtures so that makes them even more rank outsiders than Villa.
So its in my opinion completely wide open and I must say the most exciting season for me since we won promotion to div one with Nicky Weaver against Gillingham.
I must say I will not be disappointed with 5th on the basis we will break the top three next season for sure with the right aquisitions, we have come a long long way and still have a lot of work to do.
Would you dare try predict the possible outcome?
Who do you want to see take forth?
Liverpool and Villa are out
ReplyDeleteMan City 1 Aston Villa 1
Spurs 3 Bolton 0
Man City 1 Spurs 1
Burnley 0 Spurs 3
West Ham 0 Man City 2
manc 1 - villa 2
ReplyDeletespurs 2 - bolton 0
manc - 1 spurs 0
burnley 0 - spurs 1
west 2 - manc 1
forget about it chaps its all about the yids! look 4ward to our title battle with you lot next year
ReplyDeleteIt is not easy to predict but definitely will be Spurs or City.
ReplyDeleteSpurs have a better chance because Villa away form is formidable and it will be a very tough game for city.
I can also see Spurs destroy Bolton by a wide margin.
Spurs for 4Th
ReplyDeleteMan C good try but no cigars
liverpool not a hope
Bolter Aston Villa
Do the maths
ReplyDeleteL'pool out of it
assume all three win their last game and spurs beat bolton.......
to get 4th :
Villa cant do it, no matter what
City can draw with villa but must beat spurs
Spurs can draw with us
Ive done the math and although its highly unlikely, if Spurs, Villa and City were to draw or loose most or all and Liverpool were to win all then Liverpool are very much still in the race.
ReplyDeleteStranger things have happened in football like Liverpool scraping through the Champions League by the skin of their teeth so many times.
I predict there being a point in it between Spurs and City but hoping for Spurs to slip up and City to pull off some great performances.
