Compared to the last display at Tottenham Hotspur, there are mixed feelings between City fans on whether the display at Everton was better or worse. One thing we agree on though is that the display at Everton was poor, I am aware our players are also disappointed so with that said.
Can we knock United out of the Carling Cup?, what are we up against and what do we have at our disposal?
Ill let you be the judge:
United have been flattered a few times this season by gifting clubs, but have also stalled and been robbed by a better side on the day. Other than Wayne Rooney which may I add is just a little above average, they have nothing of great attacking threat in their ranks other than aging players like Giggs.
Maybe Everton was one too many and one game come to soon, dont get me wrong I make no excuses for our players though I did notice as did most of you that our players were lacking fresh feet and energy.
On a good note Patrick Vieira will be ready for the Carling Cup clash with United and he will be a welcomed addition after watching Barry and Dejong flatline against Everton.
On a bad note it seems like we are stuck with Robinho, flair player that cannot defend to save his life, gets muscled off a ball by the old man in the stand and has the motivation and attitude of a Chameleon.
Its time we start hoping Vladimir Weiss does not go out on loan and see Robinho go out on loan in his place.
Another good thing to realise is our defense and keeper Shay Given, they will want to bounce back with style after conceeding the two gifted goals. Our players know how important beating United is too us and they also know that no matter who United play in their squad that United will be gunning to beat us for bragging rights as usual.
No no no no no, we were never really a rival until it comes to Derby day that is. All that tosh about Liverpool being their biggest rivals is just a line used to insult City.
They are now running scared out of their minds and the Old Trafford crowd showed exactly that against Hull City, calling for the Glazers heads despite winning.
Now its time to hit them right where it hurts and until we reach the promised land of the Champions League, this is about as big as it gets for the players in terms of honours.
The chance to help knock United out of all competitions and the players know it.
both United and Manchester City have their fair share of injuries but I feel City now have the edge when all players are firing on all cylinders and batteries charged that is.
I would like City fans to give us their opinions on what they expect in the Carling Cup especially after the 'Fergy Time' job that saw Owen blatently rob City of a well deserved point at Old Trafford.
Was not surprised that we lost yesterday, if I was a betting money I'm afraid to say I'd have been willing to put money on it!
ReplyDeleteThat's not to say that I'm unimpressed with Mancini. Far from it! I don't subscribe to the theory that we would have won the last 4 games with Hughes in charge. Any City fan knows that we may not have lost those games but we certainly wouldn't have won all 4.
But Everton are always tough to play at home & with them playing as well as they are at the moment it shouldn't have come as any surprise.
To the Carling Cup. I don't think the Everton result should be dwelt on too much. We are still more than a match for United & I feel over 2 legs we should have enough to squeeze past them, but only just!
