Manchester City FC's Heart Of The City Prompts This Is Our City Blog Into Action To Help Foreign Soil Fans


Recently our club have called out for Manchester City fans around the world to come forward and nominate a City outpost for the chance to gain the Heart of our City.

After forwarding the message on to you fellow City fans earlier this month, I realise there were City fans around the world in need of a helping hand.

Are you a City fan located on foreign soil without a fellow City fan around to share match days with, do you wish to find some fellow City fans in or around your neck of the woods?

Do you know of a City outpost on foreign soil?, maybe you can leave a message for other City fans to locate the outpost.

Well heres your chance to make things happen, 'This is our City' have incorporated a real time comment box for you to leave a message for other fellow City fans.

You can even leave a contact email address via article comment or comment box but for your own privacy and safety leave it at that.

Important Information: However when meeting new possible friends always make sure you take someone else with you and/or that you meet in a public place for both parties safety.

You also have forums as an option to find fellow City fans in your area, I am aware some prefer not to use them so here is another option.

    The 'Heart of the City' campaign means nothing to me. Whereas 'This is Our City' was much more powerful and compelling. While I can understand a desire to make the City brand more global and less local, the heart message lacks any real identityand is to vacuous. The ad agency that did the This is Our City campaign were London based, Grey Ltd. After Cook arrived, Grey lost the business and a new ad agency arrived and came up with the Heart campaign. I understand Grey had previously prosed a slight change in the old add to accommodate a more global audience using the slogan: 'Welcome to Our City' -- which I personally prefer.

    'This is our City' can be looked at in many ways.

    This campaign may mean nothing to you but to offshore fans it means everything.

    Welcome to our City makes more of a statement I agree but the 'Heart of our City' is to signify that City fans are the heart of City no matter where they may be.
