Michel Platini's Financial Fair Play Will Not Hinder Manchester City FC At All

Many are dreaming of seeing Manchester City suffer at the hands of Fifa and Uefa, some are even praying but it is just not going to happen.

Some think this Financial Fair Play rule will hinder City's push for a Champions League place but again that would be foolish thinking for the absent minded.

All Manchester City's owners would have to do was to start paying for the luxury of an executive box at a higher expense or offer a large donation which by law is money earned. There are many ways a club can legally earn as fast as it takes to sign a blank cheque.

Platini's law states any club in Europe will only be allowed to spend what they have earned otherwise they are likely to be banned from playing in Europa or the Champions League if evidence points to exceeding their means.

One moron (I cannot reveal names for legal reasons, pity) states Chelsea as an example of how hard it is to pull it off in his article by saying they will break even, not by the predicted 2010 but long after.

Can you honestly see Fifa and Uefa banning clubs from European football at a loss?

He even uses Leeds United as an example of how bad it can become "the cautionary tale of Leeds United will live long in the memory. But to limit the amount a club is spending based on what they are earning is a sure-fire way to close the door on any ambitious clubs, of which Manchester City are one."

If I recall right, living beyond a clubs means was not the reason for Leeds United's downfall but saying that Leeds United did not have one of the richest men in the world as an owner either.

Any spending by any club at present will not be an issue under Platini's law, until Platini's law comes into affect its pretty much not even worth talking about?. Why am I talking about it then?, if only just to put a dent in the noses of those who wish for City to fall foul and for those who need a little reassurance.

If and when Platini's law backed by the Uefa comes into affect, clubs in Europe will have to prove that they are at that point living by their means. So even if City and Chelsea dont break even by then, it still wont affect the clubs as they will only have to prove that they are spending what they earn from that point on.

Both our clubs have great academies despite the fact Chelsea poached their best youth from other clubs so its not like we or they have a lack of future Premier League youth to call upon.

Its a known fact City will not have to go out and spend so much next time around, its not like we will be breaking the bank in future so there really is nothing for any City fan to worry about.
