Stoke and Burnley are sniffing around according to reports but if Mark Hughes even thinks for one second that he can just ship Weiss out to accomodate a half hearted Robinho or injury plagued Petrov without a reaction then he is naive.
Vladimir Weiss belongs in City's first team and Mark Hughes should do everything in his power to play Weiss at every opportunity possible.
Although Bellamy has been on form, he is another reason Weiss is suffering with Hughes playing Bellamy on the left instead of upfront with Adebayor.
Shaun Wright-Phillips was all over the place loosing possession against Liverpool, all Mark Hughes had to do was take Shaun off pushing Tevez to the right and have Bellamy partner Adebayor which would have allowed Hughes to play Weiss on the left. Dont get me wrong, Shaun did a great job attacking but he also did a poor job defending and keeping possession.
Without any doubt what so ever, I believe Weiss is ready for a good run of games, if anyone deserves the chance it is Vladimir.
Do you see the elite shipping out their best youth?
Who else agree's and would be extremely disappointed if Weiss leaves City on loan?
Whats your opinion on the subject.
Agree - but there are larger issues.
ReplyDeleteMark Hughes does not yet know his best team or formation. City for all their potential speed and flair are being out-played in midfield by struggling sides and we only "get it together" in patches and as a result we cannot close out and win games.
I'm unsure Mr. Hughes can think his way out of this situation.
Vlad's future will be uncertain at best until we can build an effective midfield unit.
i totally agree this lad is potetially the best yongster around
ReplyDeleteWeiss would have replaced SWP for me a long time ago, SWP has been playing poor and Weiss has looked worthy of a run of games after appearing as a sub.
ReplyDeleteWeiss should at the very least be getting more playing time in my opinion, he is an exciting attacking player who is not scared to go direct.
To loan him out would be a stupid decision it's not like he needs a learning curve, he is past that stage now. I would start giving him more playing time if I was Hughes.
Thanks guys, you broke the record of replies i had from one article lol, that being 3 comments.
ReplyDeleteId like to think that was due to the fact Newsnow took their time getting around to me.
Comment noted Ian, you have a point about Hughes trying to find his first 11 however I think Hughes is playing it safe to much, after January I hope for our sakes that Hughes pulls it together at the back, a world class right-back and centre-half but most of all hope he gives Weiss a chance.
I have a feeling this has been written to promote the Hughes out campaign. There is not a shred of evidence anywhere that Weiss is leaving City.
ReplyDeleteStan, I am not one of the Hughes out brigade nor am I new to supporting City.
ReplyDeleteI want Hughes to succeed just to wipe the smug looks off United fans faces that are praying he fails.
All i do want however is for Hughes to give Weiss the chance he deserves and sort out our defence before it gets worse.
I respect your opinion but your feelings are completely out of touch m8.
while i agree weiss should get some game time at city, the fact is he is not, so i think some game time at burnley would do him better than getting splinters on the bench
ReplyDeleteThis article is in no way a cry to get Hughes out, he is simply stating that Weiss should be given a chance. It is time he put him in the team and gives him the chance to grab his place.
ReplyDeleteNot giving Weiss a chance would be the last thing I would mention if I were to promote a Hughes out campaign, things like not having any tactical awareness would come first.
To be honest I think the article is rediculous.
ReplyDeleteSWP is a constant threat as shown by his assist on Sat. The only time he underperforms is when he is played on the left.
Weiss looks very promising but I would definitely not be playing him ahead of Bellamy, Petrov, Robinho, SWP.
Weiss is not leaving us and giving him first team experience will undoubtedly help hence loan him out.
Asking whether the "elite" ship out their best players further removes credibility from your argument
Chelsea have Stoch, di santo, sinclair, rajkovic, manienne and taylor out on loan
united have 11 players out on loan http://www.redcafe.net/f6/united-players-loan-09-10-a-263575/
and if anyone saw the pompy-stoke game, Jamie O hara is having a cracker out on loan
Gary - I think Hughes tactics are spot on!!! He just gets them back to front. We should be starting with the attitude we adopted after we went one down on Saturday. It was great to watch. Why the hell start with a lone striker, not only is it negative, but totally ineffective. We are at our best when we attack from the start - we should be employing Hughes negative tactics when we are 2 or 3 up with 15 minutes to go NOT the other way around.
ReplyDeleteNot very well put Alastair, Just because SWP attacks great does not give him a god given right in any squad. against Liverpool he was forever loosing possession like I said in the article.
ReplyDeleteObviously your one of these fans that brush under the carpet 20 mistakes that cost a team a goal as long as the player that caused the 20 mistakes also scores a goal.
United list of loaned out player hardly proves anything against this article, dito for the Chelsea youht loaned out too.
Only two of United's loaned out players are first team, none of Chelsea's loaned out youth are first team players so your outright attack on this article is void.
Credibility still present.
