Manchester City Revolution Starts With A Win

While bacon face Ferguson licks his transfer window wounds after feeding the world a lie that he had mega bucks to spend, a fresh crisp breeze has been witnessed making its way across Manchester with posters supporting the pride of Manchester.

Manchester City are starting to rub off on people, they are actually beginning to take City seriously. Second thought says they would of had too eventually anyway but it is nice to see some of those in question think outside the box for a change.

While Arsene Wenger, delusional David Moyes and bacon face Ferguson have ever so kindly stated the obvious for us saying it takes more than money, Rafael Benitez is vocally basking in the fact Manchester City have bent and are rubbing bacon faces nose in it.

The bookmakers of this world are already taking City serious and rightly so, otherwise they would be extremely out of pocket, just think of putting £20 on a 50/1 Manchester City to finish in the top four.

It seems Evertonian football fans are taking it very seriously and very heavily, venting their anger at Manchester City after David Moyes issued a disgust statement over the Lescott saga. It took David Moyes to stand up and say something for the Everton fans to follow like rats dancing to the tune of the piper.

Blackburn Rovers, our first encounter of season 09'10' and David Dunn issues a warning to Manchester City that Blackburn Rovers are going to play old school football and kick the hell out of City players, Mr Dunn calls rough treatment 'fair play', I remember last season watching Robinho and Shaun Wright Phillips getting kicked about and also watched them rise above it.

Talk of clubs loosing their soul is starting to lessen as people realise the soul of a club is its support, it seems like people have got stuck in their ways and to comfortable, even I look back and think 'what if I was getting to comfortable with Typical City', thank you Sheikh Mansour for delivering us from disaster.

My time as a City fan was never in question and I am sure many more City fans share the same boat as I, we have weathered the last 30 odd years with pride and faith not just for ourselves but for our children and their children should they choose or have chosen to follow us and if so be rewarded for our loyalty.

Seeing and hearing Robinho and Stephen Ireland happy is a bonus, if their happy then the rest of our players should be happy, watching more youth make it through to senior level has been a breathe of fresh air once again, very much excited as I am sure the rest of us are at watching Vladimir Weiss progress over the coming season.

It seems though that we are not short of our own fans being doubters, the odd City fan are stuck in their ways, trapped in time all twisted and deluded. It seems they value our club less, complaining that they would rather our club gradually add new players over a long period of time and rely heavily on youth players, they fear the thought of buying success and state they would rather our club earn it.

It's sad how narrow-minded and manipulated some people can be, if every successful club in the world did not buy their success then they were obviously the strongest of the bunch to start with. They find our club having all this wealth, uneasy and whine about how Mark Hughes is not the right man for the job like they know what they are talking about.

Well all I can say is, I am glad our club are not beating around the bush and are grabbing to bull by the horns and I could not be more happier, I'd much rather our club take this route than worry about what other people think so if some are going to be left behind then so be it, we City fans don't need others dragging their feet and bringing us down.

If they want to accuse us of buying success then so be it, every other club bought success so why can't we, I would much rather be up there with the best clubs than in the position of Newcastle or Leeds United. Look at Arsenal FC being comfortable and going nowhere living off youth as they are happy sitting in the top four collecting their Champions League cheque, a club needs balance of youth and experience and City ooze youth and experience now.

Our club is moving with the times so anyone not grasping that fact will fall victim of being left behind, anyone worried about what outsiders think should get a grip as it just does not matter what they think. Our owner has kept his promise and invested in our youth academy just as much as hes invested in our club, he even values us City fans as his most prized asset as he knows without the City fans there is no soul.

Our new Official website oozes the word 'Community', linked to many Blogs and Forums, Flickr, Twitter and you name it, our owner is even online himself. Our club is embracing the future and the soul of our club is going from strength to strength.

We City fans are valued by our club as supporters which is more than can be said for our unwanted neighbours who see their fans as ten a penny credit cards that can be replaced by another at the first sign of unrest, our opinions count for something with our club where as their opinions mean nothing to their club, while we are given reasonable prices, they are forced to pay unreasonable prices for games they do not want to attend.

Well Blackburn's David Dunn had a lot to say prior to kick off and his club certainly did play dirty with Diouf cheating and his fellow team-members picking up yellow card after yellow card but his words were rightfully shoved back into his mouth come the final whistle.

A well deserved first win of the season even if we did look sloppy at the back, one thing is for sure and that is our defence can only get stronger with new additions to the squad on imminent arrival.

The transfer window has been both frustrating and exciting but ultimately frustrating as we know Richard Dunne just does not cut it anymore, on a high note, Micah Richards had a very good game against Blackburn showing us he still has it in him.

The Revolution starts with a 2-0 win at Blackburn Rovers, now all we need is for our players and manager to keep it going.
