Inside Futbol reports, according to Madrid daily Marca, Manchester City are holding out some small degree of hope of signing Lionel Messi from FC Barcelona.
The Spanish paper reports that Messi will renegotiate his contract with Barca soon and feel they City, could offer him an escape route should he not manage to agree terms on a new contract.
Marca say the whole deal would cost Manchester City €300 Million, broken down as €150 Million to pay Messi's termination clause and the remainder for signing on fees and his salary.
The paper also believes City have been quietly in contact with Messi and his father to let them know what City are willing to do to bring him to the English Premier League.
Almost beyond the realm of possibility maybe they say and I second that, but every player has his price and most forget that the loyalty of a fan is nothing like the loyalty of an employee, football is a job just like any other job and Manchester City have the muscle to make such a move happen.
Thinking about it i'd much rather have €300 Million spent on future world class and bring in the best of the best youth around.
