Hungarian Referee Viktor Kassai will Officiate our home leg at the Etihad vs FC Barcelona
Kassai previously officiated our game against FC Bayern Munich in the 2011/12 Champions League Group Stage, at home to Bayern and the German National Teams, Allianz Arena.
He was guilty of not awarding Manchester City two stone wall penalties against the Bavarian's, handing out a count of 4 yellow cards to Manchester City and 0 to Bayern Munich despite the fact they committed 11 fouls.
Joe Hart put up a valiant performance to keep the scoreline to a respectable 2-0, this was the same game where there was confusion on the bench and Carlos Tevez refused to play. A night I hoped to forget but it doesn't seem so now, seeing as the same card happy referee is officiating our next game.
But since that night, just like we've beaten FC Bayern Munich, we can also beat FC Barcelona, our lads just have to keep their heads and play Barcelona at their own game literally.
More recently Viktor Kassai dealt out 2 red cards in a game between Arsenal and PSG for Arsenal's Giroud and PSG's Verratti for some push and shoves, in fact if he saw red cards were fit then two of PSG's players should have been sent off.
I personally think they all should have seen yellow and a good telling off, reds were overboard so we need to be on our best behaviour if we're going to beat Barca and a 12th man.
His team will be fellow Hungarian Assistants Gyorgy Ring, Vencel Toth and Fourth Official Peter Berettyan.
Comon City
Four out of five games against Barcelona City have had a player sent off. Very suspicious
ReplyDeleteCity finishing with ten players on the pitch might be worth a bet!
