Guillem Balaque Tweets: City Have Signed Nicolas Otamendi With Mangala Out On Loan

According to Guillem Balaque Manchester City have wrapped up the signing of 27 year old Argentine International Center Back Nicolas Otamendi from Valencia, as part of the deal Mangala would be going out on loan to Valencia for a minimum of one season.
After Mangala's superb performance against Chelsea today, many City fans will be disappointed for sure. But you need to look at the bigger picture here, 1. we're not selling Mangala 2. we're gaining an already established and experienced Champions League player and Copa America runner up 3. Mangala wouldn't get a look in once this guy partners Vincent Kompany or Martin Demichelis, so it's all good because Mangala will come back a better and more experienced defender should this move be correct. Balaque virtually never gets it wrong when it comes to La Liga so I'm inclined to believe it and I'm happy with this one either way.

UPDATE: Just to confirm further news is that the move is not dependent on Mangala going out on loan, if he was to refuse then City would probably up the offer.

Balaque virtually never gets it wrong?

Think you need to look back over his tweets over last couple of years.

And for the record Mangala isn't going anywhere.

    1. News is that the move isn't dependent on Mangala going out on loan the other way so the choice is down to Mangala if the move happens. I don't need to look back on Balaques tweets, he's virtually never wrong when it comes to La Liga.

    2. What was that you say? Yeah I thought so.

  2. Balague gets lots wrong lots and lots and most things he only gets right after several other outlets have already reported it.

Fair play if you want to be diplomatic about Mango going but we are buying a lad with no experience in the league after starting well as a team, Mangala himself has been superb albeit for two games but he has previously said he is ready this season and seems to be proving as much.

Just a ridiculous deal for me terrible bit of business and could Rodney Marsh our season two games in.

    1. Yeah ok like Mangala is even on the level of Otamendi right now, if you're trying to tell me Otamendi isn't good enough to hit the ground running then I'm afraid your falling on deaf ears. Lad with no experience in this league, well done for stating the obvious but you failed to mention one thing. Nicolas Otamendi lead Argentina to a World Cup final and would have won it if not for blatantly dodgy officiating. Otamendi has every single attribute to succeed, best bit of business we will have done this season in my opinion.

    2. Is your opinion golden on here then? Never said otamendi isn't good enough if you have trouble reading, it's hard to adapt not sure otamendi led Argentina to a World Cup final but I will take your word for it, just like Balague gets it right all the time wrong there to, if your not open to comments and opinions don't write your not to good at it anyway.

    3. Hilarious, I publish your comment and then you accuse me of of thinking my opinion is golden on here? If my opinion was golden I wouldn't even bother publishing any comments Gary so wind your neck in.

If you try to read correctly I actually say virtually never gets it wrong, I was referring to anything that happens in Spain specifically La Liga. If you don't like me disagreeing with you then don't leave comments.

    4. You're clearly only here to troll after seeing your spamfest appear in comments to be published which has ended up in the spamfest box.

    5. I merely left something out and added it you gain your opinion or am I just to challenging for you.

    6. Rubbish, it was idle sarcasm about me supposedly knowing someone else's best friend, I answered your comments with a counter argument and you went on one about how my opinion is golden. I've said enough to you already, I've heard what you have to say and you have now had a reply.

Otamendi didn't lead Argentina to world cup final, he wasn't even part of the squad that was selected, he had a tremendous first season in La Liga though, was by far the best defender there.

    8. It was a mistake which I corrected, I mean't the Copa America which he led Argentina to the final of. I'm glad you point out how good he is though.

    9. Hi Gary, how are you old pal? anything more to add?

  3. One of our weaknesses over the past couple of years is a reluctance to give youth a chance. We already have enough experience and an ageing first eleven . Sterling's and Mangala's pace, youth and vitality are badly needed in our team. Bringing in a much older defender is unnecessary.

    1. Otamendi is only 3 years older than Mangala, already has years of Champions League experience so the youth subject is lame at best. Mangala is only going out on loan for 1 year and will be back. By that time Demichelis will be 35 and Kompany will be 30, having Otamendi and Mangala is pure and utter top banana.

    2. Lame at best again sullying an opinion

    3. Seriously go and troll your local library and find yourself a dictionary, definition or Lame: weak, poor, i.e. weak subject, poor subject.

Only a narrow minded troll would come to the conclusion I was sullying someones opinion just by using one word.

Can you tell us all about Otamendi's great WC performances please. Should make for interesting reading. Ballague said we'd signed Pedro over the weekend

    1. Mistake corrected. was mean't to state Copa America, clue was in the runner up comment, as for your Pedro comment you and I both know that's bullshit. Balaque has never tweeted we had signed Pedro at all. He only said we outbid the Stretford Massive, link us this so called We have signed Pedro tweet then, it's well documented Pedro doesn't want to leave Barcelona.

    2. In fact Balaque has actually tweeted the Stretford Massive have agreed terms with Pedro but are yet to agree a few with Barcelona.

I'm think it would be a terrible deal to swap mangala he is young strong and was emence with kompany and it will only grow better it should be sagna/martin who goes and retires in Spain

    4. All i'd suggest is not to judge Mangala on two games, judge him on an entire season. Fortunately for him I'm not suggesting on last season, Otamendi has bundles of Champions League experience and has everything required to succeed in England. He's the finished article at just 27, Mangala is only just finding his feet. Demichelis is 35 soon and only recently gained 1 year more. In my opinion we need Otamendi to help Kompany push and improve Mangala and Denayer.

    5. Oops there goes half your credibility, Skysports have just confirmed Guillem Balaque's right and United have agreed terms with Pedro. They don't put their arse's on the line unless they are premature in which case they remove the article fast, or it's pretty much rock solid.

  5. Reports are that Valencia still owe Manchester City cash from the Negredo sale, this may well be part of the deal.
