U21 Manchester City Lift The Premier League International Cup Defeating FC Porto
Manchester City once again make history by being the first U21 side to lift the Premier League International Cup by defeating FC Porto B 1-0 who ply their trade in the Portuguese Segunda Liga, the equivalent of England's Championship League 1.
Kelechi Iheanacho scoring the only goal of the match, a future forward for our first team without a shadow of doubt what so ever.
The Premier League International Cup is a new competition for under 21 and elite development teams from all over Europe.
Manchester City defeated Schalke, Benfica, Celtic, Leicester City and Porto, which marks an historic moment for the club and Manchester City's youth academy. But more importantly it highlights the huge influence and work Patrick Vieira and his team have achieved to date, another step in the journey of our club. But it never would have been possible without the contribution of one man and his team, all hail Jim Cassell, the man that put our academy on the map for Sheikh Mansour to see.
All our lads were standout performers but the ones that excite me are Olivier Ntcham, Brandon Barker, Kelechi Iheanacho and Seko Fofana.
Congratulations to everyone involved.
