Manuel Pellegrini: You Sir Are The Best Manager In The Barclay's Premier League

Manchester City and Manuel Pellegrini have been robbed in broad day light by the British media, football fans and players of opposing clubs, Managers of all four professional English leagues and by the Barclay's Premier League itself.

Today I had a Liverpool fan state that Manchester City should be banned from Europe, that City and Chelsea should be forced to play in their own league and leave the Premier League to everyone else. Apparently so the Premier League would become a level playing field once again?

The fact remains that before Chelsea than Manchester City upset the apple cart, Man United and Liverpool dominated English football, the English top flight was all too predictable and becoming stagnant and boring. So much so that it started to lose it's flair, as much as I hate them both. David Beckham was the start of the migration, Christiano Ronaldo and now Gareth Bale find themselves in Madrid, while England and English football suffered from youth level up, due to a Football Association incapable of doing their job.

Along came Chelsea to upset the balance of power, out come the bitter and jealous hate brigade to vent their anger and outrage. I lambasted those who attacked Chelsea myself, but since Chelsea fans jumped on the City hating band wagon my opinion of them has changed somewhat these days.

This was Manuel Pellegrini's first season in English football, he left his wife and children and entered a country completely unknown to him. He was about to embark on a journey like no other, to do battle with a manager he would never have the privilege to face.

Pellegrini entered a changing room in utter chaos, he was the man charged with the job to undo Roberto Mancini's devastating mess that led to an FA Cup defeat to Wigan Athletic, but more importantly the lose of the Barclay's Premier League crown to once bitter rival's Man United. City a team that previously had the best defence and the most lethal offence in England, the first memory is of Sergio Aguero's legendary last minute goal of the 2011/12 season.

He was charged with fixing the damage in English football with very little knowledge of how the English league ticks, clubs are often relegated for taking chances on unproven managers and coaches. Hell you only have to look at the mighty David Moyes to see even proven British managers can fail, compare Manuel Pellegrini with a David Moyes who led United out of Europe and you get my point.

The Engineer was about to depart on a journey that would see him break the record of Sir Matt Busby's famous Busby Babes, by out scoring and breaking the record set of most goals scored in a single season. Only the second team in English football to score more than 100 goals, in a single Barclay's Premier League season.

While Liverpool enjoyed the help given to them by the likes of Mark Clattenburg and co, the rest of the league were more interested in playing a World Cup match against Manchester City. Every club that faced Pellegrini's men, upped their game like a pack of wild dogs.

He not only turned Manchester City in to the most potent force in English football, but also made sure he had a solid defence. 165 goals scored in all competitions (not including the 1 goal scored in the Nelson Mandela Invitational), with 37 goals against in the Barclay's Premier League (only Chelsea have a better defencive record with 27 against due to Mourinho's defencive style).

Not only did Manuel Pellegrini in his first season achieve League Cup glory, but he also got the best out of all his players. BUT the most notable achievement I believe he made was, doing a domestic double without his most important players for most of the season.

Sergio Aguero missed 15 Premier League games
Vincent Kompany missed 10 Premier League games
David Silva missed 11 Premier League games
Matija Nastasic missed 25 Premier Leagues games
Joe Hart missed 7 Premier League games

There's only one absentee in Yaya Toure from that list and you have Manchester City's spine obliterated, which is why I believe Yaya deserved more credit. Also a victim of the British hate campaign against Manchester City. Even Luis Suarez voted for Yaya Toure, that says it all does it not.

Well well well Manchester City go on to be crowned Barclay's Premier League Champions of 2013/14, without most of their spine for a third of the league season. Breaking The Busby Babes record of most goals scored in a season, lifts the League Cup and gets to the last 16 of the Champions League. And who goes and wins all awards? Liverpool and Brendon Rodgers.

Let's put this into perspective shall we, A club that first and foremost didn't have the burden of European football to contend with. A club that sat safely in 7th place in the league, with a decent squad of proven talent. They were never in fear of relegation unlike Tony Pulis and Crystal Palace, it was only a matter of time before they were back in the top 4 anyway with the finances they have. No longer in debt thanks to their new sugar daddies.

So what has media darling Brendon Rodgers done exactly to deserve Manager of the Year?

He took a Premier League club from 7th to second after buying: Daniel Sturridge, Kolo Toure, Luis Alberto, Iago Aspas, Phillipe Coutinho, Mamadio Sakho, Aly Cissokho, Victor Moses and Simon Mignolet, and got them knocked out of the League Cup and FA Cup, had no Champions League football to deal with and got Liverpool to second.

Even Tony Pulis deserved to be Manager of the Year ahead of this Brendon Rodgers guy, it just goes to show that the English Premier League may be the best league in the world, more recently thanks to Manchester City FC. But it's governed , run and supported by a majority of bitterly twisted and jealous people, Patrick Vieira is correct, Rodgers doesn't deserve the award of LMA Manager of the Year.

The country I've grown up in for 38 years has gone utterly mad, City have done nothing that clubs like Liverpool and United have not done or are doing. From the first day footballers were paid a couple of shillings to kick a ball (that's 5 pence to a Shilling, 20 Shilling's to a Pound), football has been all about money. United and Liverpool had more than anyone else, hence their domination for so many decades.

Manuel Pellegrini, you Sir are the best Manager in England, you got the best out of Samir Nasri. You turn Yaya Toure loose to be only the second midfielder to score 20 goals in the Premier League. Beat Sir Matt Busby's once unbeaten record, achieved a domestic double and took Manchester City further in Europe. You don't need no pathetic award to prove it.

THE ENGINEER, THE LEGEND.

    1. Error corrected, as you read I did say 20 shillings to a pound, for some unknown reason I had 12 stuck in my mind.
