Two wheels finally off and all we need now is the departures of the cripple Rio Ferdinand and mercenary Ryan Giggs. I can already smell the fear of United fans from here.
But this is not just a great day for Manchetser City fans, it's also a great day for English football. No more Fergy manipulating referees, for too long has he infected English football with his hold over the FA and referees. Very few officials dared to cross the Old Scot, he has been gifted far to much respect as far as I'm concerned.
Sir Matt Busby laid the foundations for Fergy's reign, Old Bacon Face joined a club with more money than the entire league had put together. If anything Liverpools Bill Shankly, Manchester City's Joe Mercer and City legend Sir Matt Busby were and still are the best managers to ever grace English football because they did it with nothing but true grit and determination.
Ill be celebrating with a pint at old red noses and United expense for today is a good day, what will you be doing?

ReplyDeleteHe is becoming the director at United, he will have no influence on coaching, training or match day goings on. He will have no influence over officials and United will finally have no influential position at the FA with David Gill gone.

He can't dictate tactics and substitutions without putting the new managers nose out of joint. He can only dictate what goes on at board level so yes I am loving it right now. His retirement couldn't have come at a worse time for the scum.

DeleteHis manipulation of match officials isn't done pitch side, it's through the back door. He can dictate play if necessary by simply telling whoever the manager is what to do. If the new manager does well he won't need to put his nose out of joint, if taggart thinks he knows better he'll have no issues with pissing him off. Have you ever known him worry about pissing all and sundry off?

You credit him with far too much, Directors of football never have any influence unless they hold power at the FA. If you think the next manager who arrives at United will bow to Fergy, then you can bet he isn't good enough to fill Old red noses slippers.

Don't be fooled by the aquisition of Robin Van Ponce, they won't be buying like that anymore unless they can maintian a top 3 place. You only need look at Liverpool so as reference.
Liverpool haven't been top 3 for years, yet they paid a ridiculous amount of money for Carroll. Ok so it didn't work, but they are no reference. I agree with you about why he's retiring, but not about the amount of power he has.

DeleteI don't disagree with you on the fact he will keep hold of a level of power at United, I just disagree with you that he will hold enough power to keep United on the up. As great a manager as he was with more cash than anyone else may I add, I highly doubt the guy has been learning how to be a Director of a football club with his role as Manager, his Whiskey drinking and Horse Racing addiction keeping him busy.
May I add he's getting on and due surgery on a hip, he probably lacks the skills to be a successful Director and will be more occupied with maintaining his health and spending more time with his wife.
