League V City: Aston Villa Fallout, Season Perspective So Far

While I agree that our season so far has been a poor one, I also believe the rest of the Premier League need to hold their hands up in allowing United to run away with the title. United are nothing special and in fact they are the weakest of two decades of United squads, being propped up by an ageing Ryan Gigg's, saved by a one man band in the form of RVP and being kept from crumbling by an ever more ageing Fergy.

While all Premier League teams play against us like its a World Cup final and concentrate for a full 90 minutes (plus added Fergy time), they eventually roll over like whores for United and allow them to walk off laughing. Everyone bangs on about how the league has never been more stronger than it is now, well if that is true then why are teams not playing against United like they do against Manchester City?, I've rerun quite a few United games back this season and the opposition don't play at the same tempo or with the same effort as they do against us, so I know for a fact I'm not imagining it all.

Others that need to take some blame are referee's and linesmen, I'm sick and tired of seeing City get sucker punched by referee after referee getting the raw deal just because we're Manchester City. So much so that even if we do triumph against 15 men, I still find myself fuming at the officials in utter anger and disgust.

Most ignore the official's manipulation to balance the game when it's in favour, but as soon as it's against they crawl out of their holes screaming injustice. Well that's just not me because I preach that if there are rules, then they should be the same for all and not one for one and another for another. I see this as a problem in society, instead of keeping it simple you have some idiot mixing it up and manipulating the rules.

Against Villa we had N'zogbia bring his stubs down on Zabaleta in a kick and stamp action reserved for classics like Romper Stomper and The Warriors, Aston Villa were gifted a corner that never was and Villa's players were allowing free reign to climb all over City players. It was like watching a bloody rugby match half the time, even when Benteke was climbing all over Kolo Toure quite literally playing piggy back, Villa were given a free kick?

Aston Villa's call for a penalty was debatable considering their player were already unbalanced, so even if our player pulled out of the challenge he was still going down.

This is exactly why I am so proud of our players right now, they deserved that victory against a dirty side allowed to play dirty just because they're in a relegation battle. Referee's have one rule for everyone else and another for us, we even had a raw deal from the referee against Chelsea, in the end another victory fully deserving for our lads.

The way I see it is, so what if we fail to regain the title this season, it's pretty much United's last chance to win anything before Fergy retires. Can't wait to see the horror on United fans faces when he eventually does, despite the fact I hate the arrogant red nosed, bacon face Scot there is no one on the planet capable of replacing him.

Ill be happy to watch Aston Villa go down at the end of the season after hearing their fans boo a player in Gareth Barry after 11 years of service, Villa fans should be ashamed to be after that disgrace of a performance. 'You deserve to go down just for that'.

If our players continue to fight like we did against Chelsea and Villa, if they bring home the FA Cup and destroy United on their own soil ill be happy until the start of next season. Just when we were starting to see our investment Rodwell show his promise, Hope you get better and come back stronger soon Jack.

Kolo Toure 'wow' where did this come from, if it's the best shop window hes after then he's certainly got it.  Some solid performances against Chelsea and Villa. I doubt he will but if he kept this up until the end of the season, he would surely deserve one more year on his contract and deserves a mention.

Obviously I still want us to win the League from under the arrogant noses of imposter's United but I won't be disappointed with a 2nd place Champions League spot and the FA Cup in our trophy cabinet. Just knowing we will have the worlds best academy and education facilities in one to envy any youngster in the world, and knowing we now have the board to set things straight and get it right is satisfying.

I'm glad the anti Mancini media circus has calmed down, the media Muppet's have finally realised it was getting quite boring and pathetic. While not being too fussed if Mancini eventually leaves or not, I do want stability for the long term and we have the men in place to keep us on the right track from Barcelona.

If United never had the finances that made them the envy of English football in the first place, Fergy would have failed and been sacked back when United fans called for his head on a plate when he got it wrong (Yes even Fergy gets it wrong, but when he does fail its over looked because of United's success).

Bobby Manc has my support even if it's only for the good of our club and for stability.

Final thought: I've never had the opportunity of having a players name on the back of my shirt, despite not being a very successful club until now for my generation. We have always had the luxury of a good few players though, that proved a stumbling block when making a choice. I could never choose which one of my favourite players deserved their name on my back more out of Corrigan, Power, White, Quinn, Lake, Goater, Kinkladze, Rosler, Horlock, Dickov, Benarbia, SWP. Now its even harder, with players like Hart, Kompany, Zabaleta, Yaya, Aguero, Tevez and Silva I just can't choose so I settle for just a shirt on my back. How do you do it?

  1. Good post. As for the name on the shirt I usually get my nickname. I bought my dad the new shirt with Aguero on the back for THAT goal. The best way I think you should decide is to pick a player that you feel is most like the way you would want to play. ;)
