Stoke are up in arms because the media and bookmakers have City as favourites to win the FA Cup, apparently we put them up to it deliberately to try to intimidate Stoke into losing.
Some are painting us as arrogant for it, Ex Stoke manager Lou Macari have stated we are unjustified favourites. Forgive me but was it not Bolton that only stood in their way to the final, who was it exactly who we had to knock out to get here?
Half of the English Premier Leagues other clubs fans are rooting for Stoke, right now they are absolutely fuming that we have made the Champions League and want Stoke to destroy us.
Obviously I was wrong in thinking that if an under dog club suddenly gained the power to defy the status quo, most football fans in general would embrace and support such for the greater good.
It simply means no one club should ever be underestimated no matter the level of finance or players they have at their disposal, clearly some are so narrow minded that they fall victim to jealousy, bitterness and hatred.
Redknapp seems to be a little upset claiming City are no better than Spurs but more equal, there are a lot of journalists out there (probably Spurs fans) twisting it into Redknapp apparently saying City are not better than Spurs which in my book sounds like Spurs are better than City.
Well all that will change after the next transfer window with City ready to bring in the big guns, the marquee signings to make us true title, CL challengers and not just one off wonders.
With that said the media are starting to work themselves into the usual frenzy, already we are being linked with Jack Rodwell and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Starting with Zlatan Ibrahimovic I would rather see City let Nimely play more, Zlatan is a bit of a Balotelli running around kicking his fellow teammates.
We all know Zlatan is known for his like of martial arts, the last thing we need is to give the pap a new explosive target.
Jack Rodwell on the other hand is an Everton fan playing for his boyhood club, can anyone honestly see Rodwell leaving Everton?
I could but it would probably be due to delusional reasons other than money, if and its a big if, he left Everton it would probably be because of a want to wear the prestigious shirt of a club that will be on the decline soon enough.
Lets face it we will be linked with every player on the planet again but if I don't believe it, then I won't be putting their name in my player list to the left.
As far as I am concerned Rodwell is not on the level of the players City need, to be frank I don't think Rodwell is that good either. How many players do we see hyped up by clubs and media only to flat line and flatter, you put a player like Rooney into say a team like Blackburn and he would not be the player he is at United.
Change the name to Messi, Tevez, Sanchez or Silva and they would improve any team.
I think you are a bit paranoid; surely nobody thinks a Man City fan/s affect what odds bookies decide upon! Also, Macari wasn't saying you are unjustified favorites, just that he thinks Stoke have a better than 4/1 shot. Thats how I read it anyway. No need to start hyping up the game and rivalries, hopefully it will be a game played and spectated in a sporting way.
ReplyDeleteI went looking at their fansite oatcakes or something, they seem to belive we are all arrogant sods because the Stoke fans themselves have gone and looked at the Blue Moan (sorry Blue Moon) website
ReplyDeleteSome people on the internet give us real city fans a bad rep
If I were you I would do a little research before I opened my mouth!we (stoke)are not up in arms about you being favourites.on the contrary we want to be underdogs we play better and get better results from that position. with the amount of money you have, how could we be anything else but underdogs.
ReplyDeleteChrist see how serious you all are, I was merely pointing out that it is not our fault Stoke are getting bad odds and I did not say anything against Stoke being under dogs.
ReplyDeleteI am merely pointing out how far we have come and how hated we are becoming just because we have gained wealth and power, I am the same City fan I was 20 odd years ago.
Only everyone is branding us City fans as arrogant with no real evidence or justification, if they want to think we are arrogant then so be it but I won't lose any sleep and no other City fan should either as it seems it comes with being a wealthy club.

Whenever opposing fans want something to make City fans look bad the first place they go is Bluemoon.
Little do they know that 90% of City fans that are members of Bluemoon do not even post on there, the 10% that do are 'well no comment'.
We pre 90s City fans have gained a thicker skin, so we tend to be unaffected by what opposing fans think of us. My advise to a fresher City fan would be to start to grow that thicker sikn because we are going to need it more than ever from this point on.
