Ain't that a FACT.
Clive Tyldesley has a bit to say on his blog and without realising it does us City fans a favour.
He says he does not want Mancini to circle the wagons and develop a 'we don't care' mentality but why is that.
He also states how everyone once loved Manchester City but why, ill tell you why because to them we were the whipping boys. They never loved City or shared any kind of empathy with us, you only had to witness one opposing fan say 'we were the laughing stock of English football' to realise their love for City was nothing more than a love to laugh their backsides off at us.
In England the term 'underdog' means nothing unless your fan of one, the problem is England is riddled with glory hunting United, Arsenal and Liverpool fans so that is exactly what we are up against.
They don't want us to circle the wagons, fight and grow a siege mentality because they want us to fail.
Well Clive Tyldesley maybe I like the ‘no-one likes us but we don’t care’ mentality, the hilarious thing is I have never cared what opposing fans think and I think that is the way forward for anyone who does care.
It is time we showed them that we don't care what they think or have to say about us, if anyone deserves a bit of Arabian fortune it is us.
Envy, jealousy and hate is rife and not all of us will have the thick skin that has served us well through the past 30 odd years, our sons and daughters etc will need to be made to understand why and our history tells the story.
I am far from saying the world is against us, you only have to realise the clubs that wish to work along side us to see otherwise. But a majority do despise us and my point is we have to channel that into a message of 'we don't care' to send back tenfold.
Well said, it's naive to expect all commentators of football to be unbiased, although the better ones try their utmost to be objective.
ReplyDeleteCity will get a hammering from many sources, but will win others over in time once they realise our owners aren't the monsters they'd like them to be.
Until then, batten down the hatches, it's City time and I love it!
tbh I'm struggling to understand why we would give a flying fek what 'just another 2nd tier media fat b'stard trafford lover' thinks. I'm a city fan: it's not a problem, I don't want support and sympathy from the media or other fans. Forced to choose I'd rather be hated than pitied. To hear liverpools 2ndXI fans say 'i used to like city, they're like us' makes me cringe. We're not like anyone else, we're not here on a glory hunt like the pride of singapore in the neighbouring town. No-one with our record of success over 40 years and sharing a catchment area (note I didn't say sharing a city,(FOBTLTCIO)with a successful 'big' club would have anywhere near the support we have.
ReplyDeleteSo, c'mon city fans, don't be apologetic tell it like it is. WE ARE THE BEST. If you don't agree fek off and read about your own team.
This is the everyday life of a City fan from across the pond. lol It's horrible yet at the same time I love it. The thing that pissed me off Monday was listening to that twat Steve McManaman talk complete shit about us. I mean I know you love your precious Liverpool but just cause we stomped them doesn't mean you need to disrespect the team you ended your playing career with. Nothing but hate spewed from his mouth the whole time!
ReplyDeleteOh well...just another "hater" I guess.
In fairness to Tyldesley, I think he is one of the better commentators - but out of a very very bad bunch. Though his bias to United is obvious I think he does actually be quite fair when talking about City, and the impression I get is sometimes he kinda sticks up for the Manchester side when we play. I certainly think he is fairer about City than most of us blues would be if we had to commentate for a living about them, put it that way!!!
ReplyDeleteHe does however seem to possess a common trait of reds, a fear of City succeeding. Rather than being grateful for the times they've had, and acknowledging the things their own side have achieved, the incredible envy and hurt they feel at others succeeding is what sets them apart from us. They were bitter and jealous about Liverpool in the 70's and 80's, and they are showing signs of returning to this should we becomes successful. They really are poor losers, and this makes them equally poor winners, as Tyldesley proves in his blog.
Great quote from Jeff Stelling. "Balotelli is not only arrogant he's deluded"
