Manchester City Can Take More Positives From Carling Cup And Are Still In The FA Cup

To be honest we deserved to win and I garauntee a majority of the world would agree, if it was not for Wayne Bridge, Kolo Toure and Joleon Lescott being out of action our defense would not have been so weak and naive.

Clearly we need one or two better defenders than our current crop, I wish I could say our team did a great job but if I did I would be accepting all of our weaknesses.

Truth is if we can not fight when we are on the back foot 24/7 then we have no point expecting Champions League football let alone any point expecting a trophy.

But anyway the positives are that Bobby Manc will have realised now that Garrido and Sylvinho are absolutely rubbish and need to be replaced fast.

That we were extremely unlucky to loose the match.

That we are still here to fight another day.

That it was United's strongest side and we still pushed them around taking it to the finish line.

That we can only get stronger and this will be the fact which will be the hardest to swallow for a United fan.

What made me laugh was hearing the commentator trying to hide the fact they were a secret United fan stating the banner will have to stay up for another year or more, Obviously the man is a complete numb nut as we are still in the FA Cup unlike United.

Speaking as a neutral, to really break the top 4 up you are gonna have to attract players you have missed out on before. It could take a while and you need that first trophy or two to get things rolling. You've improved no end though but still lack a handful of world class players. Toure, Lescott and Bridge probably wouldn't get into other top sides and you have to consider why Wenger let Toure go.

Still, the FA cup is there with only Chelski the only serious contenders.

Its always refreshing to hear a level headed neutrals point of view, many claim to be neutral but most always slip up along their lines.

From the day we became financially well off I promised myself I would not become like what I despise so much, like a United fan treating everyone with contempt and disrespect.

I agree with you on your opinion of Kolo Toure and Wayne Bridge and most City fans would also but at the same time we all know they are not the long term.

I believe Joleon Lescott can still play a part at Left Back so dont count him amung the defenders needed to be improved on.

Garrido, Sylvinho, Wayne Bridge are our weakest links.

As far as im concerned Chelsea are the strongest team in the League so to beat them in the FA Cup would be real progress.

Chelsea deserve more respect than they get, just as much as any other club bar those who tarnish their countries like Roma, PSG and Man United etc.

I agree with the neutral, we have weak players like Lescott,Sylvinho but we have to be patient, like the legend Mancini said we are in the FA cup and could win it, if we stay concentrated, which we didn't do in the last few minutes against United.

I think we could have done with players like Dunne, Elano, Distin, Corluka playing but Sparky sold Elano, Corluka and Dunne wrongly, but we will win the FA cup and probaly get top 3, good things to come at city with a good manager like Mancini.
