Does Manchester City Need Patrick Vieira? Does Patrick Vieira Need Manchester City? Is This A Good Move?

Patrick Vieira, once one of the best midfielders in the world and a general amungst soldiers on the playing field. Now 33 years old with a footballing lifetime of experience, only lacking the youth and fitness of years gone by.

Manchester City definitely need a leader on the field of play and Vieira is definitely that, still one of the best leaders in world football without a doubt.

Patrick Vieira clearly does not want to fizzle out without a bang and obviously still enjoys a challenge, Manchester City can offer him that challenge.

I have been thinking long and hard at what kind of role Vieira could play for Manchester City taking into account the player of today?

The variations can be tampered with but what that shows me is, Vieira could play a very important part in the push for champions League football still without covering 100% of the playing field.

My opinion is, Patrick Vieira arriving at Manchester City FC would be a fantastic move, stuff what Lee Dixon thinks as the guy is obviously narrow minded and jealous. And please no smart comments about the lack of defenders in the images, call me lazy if you will.

Whats your opinion on the possible arrival of Vieira?

Perhaps his influence is more about what he can bring on the training ground with the occasional cameo appearance to keep him happy -- coupled to a rather handsome salary? I think Vieira would be a good move as we need some real leadership on and off the field of play.

Sure, he wont play every game but god forbid anything happening to DeJong or Barry and we have a third stand in.

Your absolutely right about the leadership on and off but he can also bring experience to Dejong, Barry and Ireland and maybe even end up coaching at City in the future.

Absolute joke! 150 grand a week if reports are anywhere close for an old man. I really thought Mancini would come and do the business, but with links to Viera, Veron, and Cordoba we`re starting to feel like age concern...wtf is going on!

Your entitled to your opinion like anyone else but you may want to look at the bigger picture then you may see wtf is going on.

These players are short term either ending up as ambassadors or coaches, they can offer short term cover but long term investment.

Why are you worrying about money, its not your wallet so I suggest you leave that part to our owner and stop worrying about what other people will think if City buy almost past it players.

    personally I wouldn't get him
i think our midfield is good enough as it is..with barry and de jong infront of the back 4..and we have Kompany able to play their if one gets injured
    Given
    Zabaleta Toure (c) Lescott Bridge
    de Jong Barry
    Wright-Phillips Bellamy
    Tevez Adebayor

need to given Toure and Lescott time together before investing in Cordoba for example and I also feel we need a 30+ year striker, like a Torres as I feel Adebayor is too inconistent

great signing as Barry is carryin a hernia and is desperate not to have an operation on it so he can play in world cup. he can only play limited games this season so viera in midfield would be great for rotation.

slightly worried bobby manc went for veron if true as he would be doomed to failure.

i wouldnt get to excited about massive names and big fees this jan as it will all be known as the gaffa is only to aware of inflated prices in january and believes we only really need loans.

Patrick is a good player, he can attack defend and organise a team, he may be a bit old but he is a good player and a solid signing for free.
