Roberto Mancini Better Than Mark Hughes, If City Go Backwards It Will Be The Players To Blame.

Look at it in the only logical way.

When Mark Hughes left, he left with Manchester City stable aside the defensive problem, Manchester City winning and Manchester City in the Carling Cup, FA Cup and in the top six of the Premier League.

Roberto Mancini has proven himself to be on a whole other level to Mark Hughes, no not the best manager around but wiser and more tactically aware with a reasonable winning CV.

If Manchester City go backwards it will be due to certain players revolting, kicking up a stink and spitting their dummies out so there will only be certain players to blame come the end of the season.

Mark Hughes set a stable platform to work from so even if coaching routines change, there are no excuses for drops in performance.

Logic says the only way is forward with a manager that has a better proven track record no matter what country he is in.

I have not even mentioned Brian Kidd as assistant to Roberto have I, well that counts out any problem of Roberto not being able to adapt to the English game despite the fact he experienced such in his days as a player.

Roberto is also a big fan of English football so you can count on it that he has watched a few matches through his career too.

Will Roberto Mancini succeed?

My Answer: He will succeed quicker with all Citys current squad onside, if not then after a transfer window definitely.

Who will be to blame if he does not succeed this season?

My Answer: the player's who let him and Manchester City down will be to blame.

Whats your opinion or prediction.

Sometimes the best decisions aren't always not the most simple ones to take. For example. Most PL managers are replaced when the club is struggling at the foot of the PL facing relegation.Often in Feb or March or even January. Or the best case scenario a team like Liverpool losing more games and say slipping to 9th or 10th and then sacking Benitez in say end of January. Automatically the new manager comes in to a team in dissaray, low on morale and short of confidence. He spends the next four to five weeks changing formations and trying desperately to improve team morale. If he is any good he saves them from relegation or in the case of a higher placed team has a good cup run and moves them a couple of notches up the table. Now look at City, We have sacked Hughes very EARLY in the season with the team doing moderately good (except the defence who are dire. We are just outside the top four places in the semi final of a cup with a transfer window to come and lots of money available. For a new manager it is the perfect scenario to take over. The vast majority of new managers have a five or six game honeymoon period. Which could put us in the top four and get us to Wembley. Mancini will no doubt completely revamp the defence. Install belief into Robinho and Adebayor and everyone will say come March what a fantastic appointment it was. As a poker player I would say the Sheik has played a very good hand and timed it very well indeed.

    Who needs excuses?

If Mancini and City fail this season you will be back to say blah blah, told you so while sticking your fingers up saying haha, and I will be thinking how much of a sad childish silly excuse for a human being you are before moving on and still looking forward as its only a matter of time before we do succeed.

City fans will ultimately have the last laugh.

I do agree with parts of this article. I think Mancini may be able to show better tactical knowledge as well as maybe get some belief back into the likes of Robhino and Ade. My only worry is what will the likes of Bells and the other protesting players be like after what happened to Hughes? Bells has been a key player for us and a player I have liked playing for us with his work ethic. Mancini may get the players that went off the boil playing again but on the other hand we could end up losing a couple of the other players who have been key players to us this season as well. I know if they didn't pull their weight they would probably end up being replaced but it would be annoying to see and how many points would they cost us in the meantime. I do think someting probably needed to be done but I'm not too happy about how it's been done. Mancini taking charge before the Jan. window so he can decide where the money he gets needs spending is a good idea but Hughes should have been made aware of his situation, if he wasn't. Up until recently he had the complete backing of the board or so he was told along with everyone else and I think this is the reason some people can't accept whats happened. I don't think there would be all this fuss if they had said something about their concerns about recent results prior to his sacking.

Look at it this way, This will be Bellamy's last chance to achieve something in his career, same with Shay Given so I do not buy into this theory that players will revolt and turn against City but I also do not count out the possibility one or two will revolt.

I predict this Mancini move makes us stronger and I belive in and fully back our owner 110%.
