Next Up The Spuds, How Arrogance Can Bite You Right Where It Hurts

On Wed 16 Dec 2009, 8:00PM, We face Tottenham Hotspuds in the League, a club that is famous for flirting with the dream of being a Champions League regular and followed recently by an uprise of arrogance in their fan base.

Vedran Corluka once a City defender but now a Spuds defender, engineered his move after Luka Modric had words, whether Niko Kranjcar had any input or not is anyones guess. Hearing Corluka mouth off calling City a small club just makes a victory all the more satisfying and this match below has to be the perfect example.

Lets just say, Modric and Corluka can blab all they want to the media but when they face City, it will be a Manchester City five times as strong.

Prediction: Anything can happen in football, hoping for an Arsenal / Chelsea performance.

  1. Pathetic, ignorant article.

Corluka wasn't talking about the future. Of course, with their owners' wealth, City certainly might (and probably should) become a bigger club than Spurs one day. But, at the time that Corluka left, only a City fan (and a blinkered one at that) would have argued that City were a bigger global name than Spurs.

City have achieved bugger all in football for the best part of 35 years - other than the dubious distinction of becoming a yo-yo club between the divisions. I mean, it really was telling of City's pathetic record that they recently progressed beyond the quarter final stage of a cup competition for the first time in 28 years, when they beat Arsenal's reserve team in the Carling Cup quarter final - the previous occasion being when they reached and lost the 1981 FA cup final to........Spurs. Since that time, Spurs have progressed to the semi final stage of various competitions on a further 17 occasions - reaching 9 finals and winning 5 trophies. End of argument.

As to Kranjcar.....he didn't even join Spurs until the end of August 2009. So why on earth would he have had anything to do with persuading Corluka to join Spurs in August 2008?

And Modric? What blabbing to the media?

Finally, it is fantastically ironic that a City fan could have the nerve to accuse a fan of any other club of an "uprise of arrogance". Have you not noticed what your fellow City fans have become over the past twelve months or so?

Hull are naturally a tough oldskool playing team, credit to them that they fight for their victories unlike Spurs who pray their opponents lay down and let them score 6.

Ill live in the past as much as I like, just as much as I live in the future currently enjoying my City life. The past is what makes a club and the roots go deep so ill be holding onto these memories if you dont mind Insert.

Quester, Michael Tarnat went to Hannover 96 in 2004

JimB, I see no arrogance within our ranks and as a matter of fact all the City fans I know show zero arrogance with their expectations being 4th or 5th which is more than can be said for Spurs fans who have been blabbing for the last four years atleast that Spurs will successfully break the top four after your club decieve you with a run of wins followed by disaster.

I can be forgiven for the Kranjcar subject as I do not follow any other club other than my beloved City unless its of interest but then again when ever is Spurs interesting?

As a matter of fact Modric has blabbed to the media about how Spurs will play better against City trying to encourage your players obviously which is perfectly fine but please do come with as much arrogance as possible.
