Italian Defender In City's Sights, Leonardo Bonucci Is Mancini's Man Report

It has been reported that Manchester City FC have made an initial approach to lure Leonardo Bonucci from Bari and Genoa who are co owners of the 22 year old promising Italian central defender.

Bonucci came from Associazione Sportiva Viterbese Calcio, an Italian club at youth level before moving to F.C. Internazionale in 2005 on loan, he went out on loan to two other clubs before moving to Genoa and Bari in 2009.

In 2006 He was part of a team who won the Coppa Italia Primavera, Italian Cup (under 20 youth).

In 2009 he underwent a medical at Genoa and then moved to Bari under co ownership.

He has also been linked with a move to Arsenal FC in 2010.

Standing 6ft3 Bonucci would add much needed height to City's defence but can also play on both wings.

Bonucci has made 66 professional appearances scoring 5 goals.
