The Merseysiders had already turned down two offers of £15 and £18 Million for Lescott, Everton manager David Moyes made a defiant stand and refused to be forced into selling one of his key players by City but has had a change of heart over-night.
Wigan chairman Dave Whelan, claimed yesterday that David Moyes was wrong to stand in Lescott's way and he was not alone.
Whelan said: 'You have to ask David Moyes, "If someone comes for you as a manager and wants to double or treble your wages to manage that team, would you go?" The answer has got to be Yes. He's a professional manager and this lad's a professional footballer.
' David Moyes is a very committed manager and very loyal to Everton. But I don't think he has accepted that money counts in football. Big style.
'If Man City come and say we'll give you £20m and the lad himself knows his wages are going to double or treble, you've got to listen and accept that the lad wants to go and you've got to let him go.
'The transfer deadline is not far off. Everton have suffered because of what's been going on there, and it was desperate losing 6-1 to Arsenal.
'The sooner they get it settled the better and the club can return to being normal.'
I think David Moyes is having problems adapting to change and hes definitely wrong to stand in the way of a player and Everton are definitely getting more than the player is worth so they can not accuse City of anything.
If anyone is to blame for the Lescott mess its Everton and Moyes without a doubt, dummies and toys are scattered everywhere.
great news if lescott does come to city. Always new in my heart he would come, whether its this tranfer window or January. On another note I think a good win at home today and another win against a poor portsmouth next week will see EVERYONe sitting up and taking city seriously!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great start to the season for the Citizen. The only sad thing was about last Saturday's game was that they could not turn the many opputurnity they had into goals. They should have easily won the game. Overall I believe they are heading in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteI was happy to see Carlos TEVEZ being named in the starting line up as I'm huge fan of Argentina. For my money, he will make a better partner with Emanuel ADEBAYOR. That was just a classy pass for Ade to score. I'm sure we will see more of that in many months to come.
Perhaps, it will be nice to hear on your thoughts about Carlitos playing Manchester City. For your information, you guys too have a lot fan of our blog.
