Mike Rigg And Brian Marwood To Leave City?, Kolarov Attracts Interest From Inter?, United In Scandal Probe?

It is being reported that City technical director Mike Rigg will join old friend Mark Hughes at QPR, both enjoyed time together at Blackburn before Hughes was sacked by us. City Football Administration Officer Brian Marwood will also be on his way out after an impending reshuffle gets underway.

The two men reported to be replacing Rigg and Marwood are, ex FC Barcelona vice-president Ferran Soriano and ex FC Barcelona deal-maker Txiki Begiristain. We are still lacking a chief executive after the step down of CEO Garry Cook, which means when Mike Rigg leaves we will be lacking the vital personnel to oversee our next playing staff recruitment drive for the 12/13 season.

It won't be long before Sheikh Mansour gets his men, but we can expect progress before the start between now and the end of June 2012. Our owner will want our new executive team in place ready for next season, this looks more and more likely to be the two named above after Soriano's current employers Spanair went into insolvency.

They would both be replacing Rigg and Cook, but it's any ones guess who would replace Marwood should he leave, Rigg was responsible for bringing Vincent Kompany, Nigel Dejong, Mario Balotelli, Edin Dzeko and Aleksandar Kolarov to the club so you could say he's had an equally positive and negative affect on us.

Inter Milan sporting director Marco Branca has admitted his club wants to sign Manchester City's Aleksandar Kolarov, I welcome the interest and hope it comes to pass due to believing Kolarov is not a left back fit for the English Premier League. His ability to defend is almost non existent, frequently being caught out by fast wingers and over lapping play.

If you haven't already realised we will have to sell to cover who we bring in, I expect to see Kolarov, Adebayor, Santa Cruz, Savic, Hargreaves, Bridge, A Johnson and possibly Carlos Tevez leave in the summer. My only question mark hangs over Carlos Tevez?, will he change his mind and decide to stay or will he stick to his guns and force his way out after fixing the damage he did to his value.

Either way we can expect the arrivals of two wide wing men and two defenders, I predict we don't bring another striker in even if Tevez leaves because we have two young strikers already on our books aka Nimely and Guidetti.

So that's by my count a possible eight out and four in, which would do wonders for our club due to the impending arrival of the Financial Fair Play ruling. One player that has been surrounded by speculation is Nigel Dejong, in my opinion the least likely of the lot to leave City, with his contract up in the air no one knows what will happen. After the Ben Arfa accident Dejong has not been the same player he once was, however he has shown glimpses so will he end up signing a new contract or will he be a surprise departure in the summer?

If he did happen to leave we could then expect eight out and four five in.

United are caught up in a corruption scandal after 7.5 million Bebe's agents was reported to have been payed a mind boggling 3 million for an unknown player from the Portuguese second division after scoring 40 goals in six STREET FOOTBALL games.

7.5 million Bebe was put in a corner of Turkey with Besiktas and is due to be sold on in the summer, United are no strangers to corruption with decades of help from referees and having influential members holding powerful positions in the Football Association.

This has to be the biggest ever transfer joke in the history of football, nevermind the poor joke that is the name of their club which be the biggest lie in the history of football.

  1. My jury is out on whether we should let Adam Johnson leave, while hes a huge threat going forward his defensive ability is appalling.

The boy is immensely talented. He NEEDS a chance. He DESERVES a chance. To date, I don't think he's started three games in a row during his entire time at City. Mancini wants him to improve, but training can only do so much. Pitch time will improve him. If we let him go he'll become another Sturridge or Onuoha.

If Kolarov leaves, who's going to put in crosses from the left? His defending is bad, yes, but at 25-26 he can still improve. He is second to Bale only in terms of crossing ability. Who scored our first ever Champions League goal?

    1. I know hes talented which is why my mind is saying keep Johnson and give him a chance to improve his defending.

As for Kolarov well, to keep a defender just because he can do a wingers job is a bad thing. We need a defender who can defend and attack, and a winger to do his job.

So its a winger who is going to put in crosses like they do do, great performance against Norwich City.

Electrifying performances from Aguero and Tevez.

I'm not a United fan, nor City, CFC, LFC, AFC or Spurs for that matter, but I would suggest that you remove your comments in the bottom two sentences of this page. A libel lawyer will have no trouble making a fortune out of you and probably bankrupting you for comments such as those!
