Manchester City Defy Legends And Destroy United On Their Own Patch In Trafford, Not Manchester

See it for yourself if you have not already, by going to our official website and watching the highlights there.

Days before the Derby I was saying to myself this has got 5 - 2 to Manchester City written all over it, I was that confident I trolled Republikofmancunia with much premature delight.

Even a few footballing legends had us down as a losing side, you could say they under-estimated City or even that they placed too much belief in United.

While Silva provided the creativity in United's half, one other player was a stand out performer dominating midfield and he be Yaya Toure.

Silva: Successful Passes: 62
Yaya: Successful Passes: 66
Milner and Clichy Successful Passes: 42
Barry Successful Passes: 48

Micah Richards took the crown for most Successful Tackles: 8

Either way they absolutely got it completely wrong to the delight of the City faithful, United fans could not leave any quicker for the exit doors.

United should be awarded at least a certificate for the swiftest and most organised stadium evacuation in English football to date.

Any United fans wishing to make a complaint about the noise we're making, should call Environment Health on 0161 61 61 61 and don't forget to leave the message after the moan.

Although Bobby Manc is keeping it real, I just know underneath he is one happy chappy. Have to say I am not adopting the same caution for I, have been waiting for this for 30 odd years and honestly.

The way we're playing right now, I just don't see us letting up and losing steam.

Overall excellent performance from the lads though, Mancini was right in saying we can still improve. Top job!

Reports after the match were that around a 200 strong mob of United supporters hurled abuse at City’s two-goal hero Mario Balotelli, 21, as he left the stadium escorted by security staff.

Probably the same lot that threatened their own players like Rooney etc, not hurting much then?

Live TV picked up Joe Hart claiming he was subjected to death threats from United fans behind his goal, although afterwards he played down the threats as nothing. Shame as we need a complaint for the Police to investigate, you don't need to throw death threats to vent anger.

Noel Gallagher had his say on BBC Sport when asked 'what went so right for Manchester City', he replied "I think the fact that Alex Ferguson rested Howard Webb probably had a lot to do with it". 'pure genius'

Big thanks to my Aunt who gave me live text commentary while I were at work, just upgraded to a video phone so going to utilise my Skygo although I'm looking to get to more games this season. Get in there!

  1. City’s progress has much to do with their solid defence, and the early criticism of Mancini's 'negativity' now looks pretty foolish... He was just building a solid base and now he can take the handbrake off. City looked irresistible on Sunday.

The result reminded me of Barca’s 5-0 thrashing of Mourinho’s Real Madrid last season (I blogged about it here: http://www.premier-league-blog.co.uk/united-crushed-by-citys-barcelona-moment/). Purely as a marker laid down to a rival. It’s nothing like United’s 8-2 win over Arsenal this season – that was against a completely decimated line-up. This was against a strong, confident side in good form. It could be a long chase for United now.
