What Are City REALLY Up Against, Sport And Business Are A World Apart

The most important issues for the real Manchester club right now are sustainability and growth, it is business as usual at Eastlands and believe me when I say there is no stopping the rise of Manchester City on the business end of things.

The odd City blogger before us have highlighted all interesting things going on behind the scenes so I wont go into detail, but I will say there is a heck of a lot of interesting thinking and projects going on behind closed doors.

So Manchester City FC as a business will without any shadow of a doubt rise until we reach the heights required to make us a real global brand,
Sport is where we are really up against it, I don't believe all sports fans are aware of the depth of the challenge in front of us right now.

It is there for any realistic and sane person to see that British referee's are to a point corrupt in influencing the English Premier League outcome with referee's like Clattenburg to name but one.

Then there are the teams in the English Premier league that lay down like prostitutes against clubs like Man United, only to up their game the next week against clubs like Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal.

Lets not delude ourselves into thinking these issues do not exist, this is only the tip of the EPL iceberg.

Yes you do have a few teams that turn up against united and give as good as, I do love to watch the reruns and give them the praise they deserve but. Is that really how it should be?, if it is not the referee working against us then you can count on it that half the league is.

One club I have to praise from the bottom of my heart is Blackpool FC, they have been a blast of fresh air and put more established clubs in the English Premier leauge to shame.

The only way I believe we are realistically going to succeed, is if we are patient and work hard as this is going to be a very long journey that only time will dictate.

Many clubs across Europe suffer the same treatment and we in my opinion are not Elite just yet, as far as I am concerned we are still an under-dog accept we are top of the under-dog pile.

Clattenburg and Rooney recently proved to you and everyone else that referee's influence games and give advantage to the established elite, despite the fact our club will one day truely be elite like those that get preferential treatment.

I stress that I would not want us to receive preferential treatment, this problem is what is truely killing off football for fans. There are more fans on the receiving end of corrupt and idiotic referee's, do you ever wonder why run down places like Old Trafford are full to the brim with fans and others are three quarters full or empty?

You can pretty much predict matches these days by just looking at who the referee will be on match day, until the bad referee's are in a minority and until there is a shake up with governing bodies nothing with change and we will still be pulling our hair out on match day.

Patience is our only salvation.

I forgot to say how I admire to a point Chelsea and their fight to stability but, do not forget that they were at one point already an established top four club before Roman arrived.

  2. Yes, that's a point worth remembering, Chelsea were already up there when Abramovitch bought the club, we have come a long way in a short time. Corruption? not endemic IMO - plenty to play for and we have time to grow. Giggs, Scholes & co don't. We have to build that kind of dynastic approach. It's like Mancini says, once we win a trophy, then more will come. If we want to be winning for years to come, we need to develop the heart of the team - strikers may come and go, but I hope Vincent, Kolo, Lescott, DeJong, Barry, Silva Zaba - I hope they go on to be our heartbeat

Martin Atkinson is a breath of fresh air, good to see atleast one referee stick it to Fergy.

You have to accept that referees are human, and made mistakes. The bigger teams are in the oposition half more, are tackled more and in the penalty area more. The portion of bad referee decisions sometimes appear to be in favour of larger clubs.

Sorry but I am not buying into the theory that referee's make mistakes due to them only being human, or buying into youre theory with being more in the opositions half and I certainly won't accept it.

Accepting that is just the same as accepting defeat after someones cheated you out of a win, if you don't fight the system then the system will continue to rob you.
