From Under performing players to a manager who I had a lot of faith in, to a team that can not quite stop getting sucker punched in the dying minutes.
With exception to Dzeko as I don't think he should be judged so soon in his City career, I have lost total confidence in Balotelli, Boateng, Barry and Lescott.
I'd say we are at the same level as Spurs but in reality we should be as good as Arsenal, that same group of players who are collectively the youngest team in the Premier League by a big margin (Arsenal fans better lap this one up because this will be the first but last time I ever compliment your club).
When I heard Carlos Tevez would not be playing against Chelsea I said to myself, "Here we go, get ready for the defeat". Being a die hard City fan I still had to watch the match but hoped for the best.
Lescott recently came out and said he is enjoying his best form right now only, I beg to differ and believe he is not good enough. I believe Jagielka was and is Everton's best defender so why did we buy Lescott exactly.
Mancini has had my full support from day one since arriving at Eastlands but I am starting to question my belief in him, ok he is qualified and I am not but I still believe Mancini did not choose our strongest lineup vs Chelsea.
Adam Johnson was on the bench watching Dejong on the right wing, Dejong on the right wing and Barry in left midfield. Kolarov was at left back when he could have been playing on the left wing, pushing Lescott to left back. Boyata on the bench when he clearly could have partnered Kompany instead of Lescott.
Losing to Chelsea was no big deal or surprise in my opinion as we were missing two of our strong players in Carlos and Zabaleta. The way the Chelsea players reacted to their victory just goes to show how far we have come, they treated the win like a Champions League final which is a huge compliment to us.
Though I am losing confidence in Mancini and have lost confidence in Balotelli, I still believe we can only get stronger no matter what happens.
Worse case scenario would be failing to achieve a Champions League place this season and losing to United in the FA Cup, although I don't see losing to United as important it would be a sweet consolation prize if all else failed.
Our priority is ultimately Champions League but if we failed then every manager has his price, rumour is that Mourinho's name is once more in the mix with a ten million offer.
After some serious thinking I would much prefer Mancini stay if he can kick Balotelli to the curb or sort him out once and for all either way. Stability is ultimately what City needs and keeping Mancini for another season minimum has to be the best option right now.
I just don't see Mourinho leaving Real Madrid if we fail to gain Champions League football anyway, so are Mancini's days numbered or are City preparing for his sack at the end of the season if we fail our target?
If we are to achieve Champions League football then we have to start playing all games to the last bitter second, we have to stop getting sucker punched like we have been subjected to more often by our unwanted neighbours in Trafford.
And we definitely have to drop the under performers before it is too late, it is now crunch time and we can not afford to drop anymore points from this point on.
Lets face facts that we missed Tevez and we still have only half a true Champions League team, there is no point thinking otherwise and we need either our younger players to step up or a few more buys until we are truely ready to challenge for the league title.
Giving our players the respect they deserve I do believe they have done a good job but it is just not good enough if we are to be honest.
Keep the Faith
Mate, you seriously need to get a grip of yourself. Lescott was a rock yesterday, as he was on Thursday, so that clearly disproves your call for Boyata to start [remember when he last did and cost us the Arsenal game after his clumsy challenge after 4mins?]. Also De Jong on the right wing is a bit daft, when he was covering the midfield section, as all 3 of our centre midfields should do.
ReplyDeleteand talk of Mourinho is just ridiculous. Mancini is slowly getting things done his way. Yes we lost yesterday and we have had an average 2 months, but we are clearly a solid outfit now, when we are fresh and all of injured players are back fit, which is close now, we will demonstrate the attacking flair to match our solid defence [eg Fulham away, Liverpool home].
Just have a bit of faith for once will you, you nugget. Sat 4th and a FA cup semi final coming up. Its clowns like you who walk out 10mins before kickoff to miss the traffic, yet is first to kick them into touch with one bad game.
MCFC OK
Daft?, that would be the perfect word to describe you Gavin.
ReplyDeleteLescott was a rock solid defender yesterday and we had a clean sheet to prove it.
Yes Dejong was supporting our midfield, a midfield without a left winger to support Richards against Malouda and Cole.
The only clown and nugget here is you judging a team on one or two great performances, Lescott has one or two average games and you start praising him.
Go abuse someone that cares and take your problems with you chump.
If our defence was as solid as you make out we would not have allowed Chelsea and Spurs to catch up.
I agree with keeping Mancini as the idea Mourinho coming to City is an absolute pipe dream. He covets Fergusen's position at the swamp. Never gonna happen.
ReplyDeleteThe Football Association will await information from Chelsea before deciding whether to take action over reports that a laser pen was aimed at Manchester City players and the referee, Chris Foy, during Sunday's game at Stamford Bridge.
