This is our City: Why United Are Hypocrites And Deserve Everything They Know They Fear Coming

Why United Are Hypocrites And Deserve Everything They Know They Fear Coming

I feel for my late fathers generation of United fans being the last generation to support both City and United, that were the time when United profited from the ownership of the Gibson family gaining the services of Matt Busby and earning £$ millions from kit sponsor Umbro.

Since then they have had to put up with plastics and glory hunters making them look like complete and utter morons, across the web there is a mass of evidence to back my sword to the hilt and I am about to put United to the sword.

I could have copy and pasted from history books and websites but to be frank its not my style, I prefer to tell it how it is and make it brief.

Since the Gibson's reign, United have profited from Shareholders, mainly United's supporters trust and United fans, followed by The Glazer Family which no matter how you look at it or how you spin it. Boils down to one thing and that is, United have profited from £$ millions to gain the glory they achieved since Matt Busby.

So who exactly are the kings of buying titles and trophies? United.

Decades of taunting for many clubs at the hands of United fans have finally been put into perspective for those United fans, the season of 2011/12 has forced most United fans to wake up.

I wonder exactly how many members the green and gold brigade have now?

After being knocked out in the 2011 FA Cup by Manchester City and watching Manchester City go on to win it, the morons were forced to take down the arrogant countdown banner.

They went on to win the Premier League title easily with no real challenge from any other club, but no Carling, FA or Champions League Cup were achieved.

In 2012 they have had to put up with being second best for most of the season and being knocked out of the Carling and FA Cup once again, while being looked down upon by a super strong Manchester City side.

They fear Manchester City so much that they continuously hope and pray that their infamous coming good in the final third of the season materialises, so that they won't have to deal with the backlash their decades of taunting will empower.

Having to accept Manchester City at the top of the Premier League for most of the season was clearly enough to get their knickers in a twist but, what has seeing Liverpool lift the Carling Cup done to their moral?

Knocked out of the Champions League once again and made to play in the Europa League must be torment for the self proclaimed biggest and most famous club in the world.

Being outplayed by Ajax in the Europa League and only making the last 16 by the skin of their teeth must inject a heck of a lot of confidence in their fans, what exactly are their chances of going on to win a competition that has far stronger clubs still in it.

I predict: little chance

So I am not one to count my chickens but with the football we are currently playing I don't see us dropping many points, our only question mark in the run in would be the United and Chelsea games still left to play. To be completely honest looking at their current form they instill absolute zero percent fear in me, the only way I could possibly see us blowing the title race now would be if we lost 3 or 4 of our most influential, important players to bookings and, or injuries.

With that said how would United fans feel seeing their club win absolutely nothing in 2012 after watching Liverpool win the Carling Cup, either Chelsea, Liverpool or Spurs win the FA Cup, watching Manchester City win the Premier League title?

How would United fans feel if Manchester City went on to win the Europa League even?

What makes me laugh right now is, knowing the Manchester United Supporters Trust encouraged United fans to buy shares in their club to stop any hostile takeover of their club, they could have been owned now by SKY after Rupert Murdoch tried to purchase a large portion of shares.

They eventually fell to two Irish United fans who wanted to cash in on their majority holdings, resulting in the sale of their majority to the Glazer family.

Hate United, Love the Glazers!

They are that delusional and that naive that they continue to brand us a rich mans play toy, while in denial that they too are a rich mans play toy. Most of the United States sports are home to rich mens play toys, even college football teams have investors and benefactors.

Money is part and part of sport in this day and age, investment has always been part of football be it a player earning a few £pound or a few £million pound, the only reasons for the environment of football being richer are due to the facts that the world is a much richer place and the game is more popular.

What exactly will happen when a club so deep in debt stops winning titles and trophies?, what happens if they are forced to sell their only prized assets aka just one or two measly players who would probably only muster about £40 million between them?

Do they even realise the impact their old guard has had on their club to keep them in the title race?, and do they realise that once they lose the old guard and eventually their manager that it will be the end of them?

I always said it will take time for the fall from grace, it was never going to happen over night but, the more time it takes the better as far as I am concerned. It would not be fun without a fight to the bitter end.

I live life by a few idioms and one that springs to mind is "what goes around comes around".

While being occupied with all things Manchester City, they fail to see the revival of another rival club aka Liverpool who will no doubt be a stronger force in 2012/13.

Any help to permanently knock United off their perch is very much welcome.

Bit of a one sided view there, you fail to mention that the money City have spent on players in the last couple of seasons is more than United have spent in ten.
The point about the banner is true, it would have no point now, but while it lasted it was fun.
Your tale about us being in the Europa league falls a little flat, as you are there even though you spent half the UK debt on trying to win the ECL.

Oh and it's been Liverpools year for the past 12 years

It is only fair I hightlight the Busby Era as that was when your glory days started, don't get picky and choose your last ten titles just to serve your own purpose.

How does it fall flat when you're ment to be an established Champions League club and we are not yet.

No one said anything about it being Liverpools year, I applaud you on your honest comment for I did not believe there were one United fan out there capable but if you want one sided articles then look no further than your own club sites.

I'm one of those 'faceless' people who went to both Maine Road to watch City and the following week to Old Trafford to watch United.

I saw some GREAT PLAYERS from both sides and appreciated watching good football. If City did well I gave them credit, likewise when United did well I applauded them.

I cannot understand this tit for tat baiting of opposition supporters from both camps, but I see when it got nasty. It all started when Johnny Haynes of Fulham decided English footballers were underpaid, which they were at twenty quid a week. From then on the players have demanded more and more money becoming football mercenaries. Players do not care about '
the shirt', much less about their current club or the people who pay their wages.

NO PLAYER is worth fifty thousand pounds a week, what has made it worse is the 'foreign' owners who pump money into clubs they have bought, in an effort to BUY honours.

How many players City or United are from Manchester, indeed haw many are from the U.K & Ireland?

I still applaud good football be it either by the Sky Blues or the Reds of Manchester, but I really enjoy seeing British players do well in either colour, sadly there are fewer & fewer.

I have seen foreign players cheat, dive and otherwise bring the game into disrepute whilst still drawing massive wages and who in reality pays their wages in the long run? THE FANS BY WHAT THEY PAY TO GET INTO THE RESPECTIVE GROUNDS OR PAYING FOR SKY Etc.

Come on folk, we are MANCHESTER be we be blue, red or have the intestinal fortitude to follow both.

At 70 years of age I have fantastic memories of some wonderful players from both blue & red camps, memories untainted by the modern ideology of being committed to following one team of over paid and over priced guys who kick a piece of leather around for 90 minutes once, or sometimes twice, a week.

    WE ARE MANCHESTER.

My family have long shared healthy banter but nothing ever as the stinking bile we have been subjected to by United, not only by their fans but also their club, manager and players.

You say foreign players cheat but the biggest cheat in the English top flight is Wayne Rooney an English international, you only need search on Youtube to see him in all his glory diving all over the place.

Why should the best players in the world not be paid, its a job afterall and I don't care what anyone says. Colin Bell and George Best would have loved to have made the money players earn now.

You have to be a complete moron not to love to earn their wage while playing a game they love as much as we do.

You are an uneducated disrespectful moron CiTyBlUe. An individual who I see doesn't care about respect for other peoples beliefs, opinions or indeed about football.

It would be obvious to most readers that you are just about complaining and running people down, people that you do not even know, a psychological state of extreme jealousy.

I feel sad for you because your biases indicate a sickness and jealousy that runs way deep in your psyche.

I do however applaud your support of a 'rising' Manchester City team. It must have been unbearable for you to see the team you hate so passionately have so much success over such a protracted period of time AND I include the years before the inception of the E.P.L.

You are correct, I would have loved to have earned the wages some of the modern day footballers extort from their clubs, thanks in part to the Bosman ruling which allows players to hold their clubs to ransom.

I am delighted however, that Carlos Tevez did not get his much desired transfer whereby he and his 'adviser' stood to rip off City supporters, the football club and the billionaire owners who have poured oil millions into the club, however if the Sheik can support United, as he has stated he does, why cannot other individuals have the same right, which you obviously, through your bias, deny them?

I wonder how many matches you have actually attended to 'financially support City, or are you, as I suspect, just one of those armchair/tv 'followers' who have never been to either Maine Road or Eastlands.

I suggest you get your head out of your butt and show respect to other people irrespective of which club they SUPPORT.

I may not be an attendee or season ticket holder now but after 30 years of support speak for itself.

I even have family members who are regular attendees or season ticket holders, would that count for anything.

That would surely tell you I aint no punk that floats around calling themselves Manchester bred who probably isn't even close.

Charlie Adam is currently the biggest premier league cheat. Bale dived for his pen at Arsenal. Johnson is not adverse to a slightly dramatic tumble. Rooney is struggling to understand how to spend as much time on the ground as Ashley Young, as for Welbeck he dives all the time. It/s everywhere, every team. Some of the foreign players are actually shining lights Aguero, Silva and Yaya at City never go down easily. Berbatov
is ok tries to stay vertical. The titile will come down to April 30th, let's hope for a courageous ref, not a Rooney influenced one. Though given our entire spine of the team was out at the last derby (Hart/Company (off) Yaya and Mario) I doubt scum will get the win that they will need. What a moron. United have spent because they were successful. They had the vision to build a large stadium, to tap untapped markets and to generate revenues where other clubs did not. They never bought success. They earned it. Till the Glazers came and piled on debt on to the club, United were a profitable enterprise.

The article is such bullshit. First this guy says I like to brief... then goes on and on and on. Then he says he just prefers to say it as it is. Then writes everything but facts. He then says that he doesen't like counting his chickens, following which he declares City winning the league.

Even if City win the title this season, it will not be the end of United. There have been several clubs that have challenged United and eventually faded away. City can't buy success forever. They do not have the fan base worldwide to compete with United financially. United are the most successful club in English football history. Live with it.

Look at United's run in and then look at ours. We still have 7 years left in our 10 year plan, I see your point about not sticking the boot in too early and agree which is why I don't believe we have won it until we have won it unlike United fans who seem to think they have always won it before they actually have.

First of just to be clear I'm not a United fan, a manc friend of mine showed me this and I just felt compelled to write this.

"They are that delusional and that naive that they continue to brand us a rich mans play toy, while in denial that they too are a rich mans play toy. Most of the United States sports are home to rich mens play toys, even college football teams have investors and benefactors."

A point that you're missing to grasp is that while the Glazers have put the club in debt they are still didn't acquire to the club for fun, they did it to make a personal profit which they also have done. The same goes for the investors in the States who are businessmen looking to make profit.

Now if you advert your eyes to Manchester City and their investors it's very hard to believe that profit is their main target considering the huge financial losses Manchester City has made since they took over. And with that reasoning you might come to the conclusion that Manchester City are a rich mans play toy.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I very much doubt you're not a United fan, again United fans make things up and distort facts and truth to service their own purpose.

You have just like any other United fan, proved my point once again. So because you say so Manchester City are nothing but a play toy just because our owner is yet to see a profit?

United fans are not just arrogant, but also bitter. Why?

Because our existance proves that their club stands for nothing but a big fat lie.

Have you neutrals ever wondered why they put so much extreme energy into belittling us with their glory and history or wonder why it pains them so much to not want to see us achieve the same?

      Delete
    2. Anonymous28/2/12

I'm a Hammers fan and I've been that for as long as I can remember. The reason why i've posted is because I love to debate football and this seemed like an interesting topic.

Now the reason I highlighted that I'm not a united fan in my first post was to try and avoid the exact response that you just gave me. I don't care about united fans and being bitter about each other. I don't see what that has to do with my post.

The point I was making in my first post was that with the huge losses that Man Citys new owners are making I definitely doubt that they are seeking any financial benefits from their investment. Therefor I can't think of any other reasons to why they would have got involved with the club but for their own pleasure of owning a football club.

Now if you could come up with some other reasons to why they are doing it then you've got a great chance to turn a neutral (albeit I'm a bit more biased towards united than city just because of this whole topic) to become more understanding and respecting to your club.

      Delete
    3. How about this for an answer, if they just wanted to own a football club, then why did they not just buy an already established elite club like Bayern Munich, Juve or a Milan club considering they are more than rich enough to buy them all put together.

Ten year plan set in place by Sheikh Mansour and we are only three years into it and challenging for the league title and Champions League football, if that aint real progress and aint showing short term success then you only need to look at our statistics compared to the last five seasons, add to that the FA Cup and I think our owner should be very happy about any future earnings.

Lets face facts that if we achieve Champions League football over the next seven years, with some good cup runs and a few league titles, our owner will start to see a profit on his investment sooner rather than later.

      Delete
    4. The Sheikh is looking to further expand his operations beyond oil, into airlines and property development (amongst other things). He is doing this by using sport as a medium for both advertising and to raise the brand portfolio. If you check out the sporting credentials, he also sponsors the Ferrari F1 team, funds the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and owns several stadia and teams worldwide. It is a great way to push brand consciousness into the minds of ordinary people. Example: How many people had heard of Emirates Airlines before they sponsored Arsenal's new stadium? And how many now?

Thing is, if he just wanted a team, he could've picked up one of the big teams and had done with it. If you look, though, you'll see he's bought lots of land around the stadium and is investing millions in building in the area. Not exactly the work of a wealthy person with a toy.

    Wow.

If I didn't hate City fans before, I certainly do now.

Instead of just reveling in your newish achievements, the amount of cynical bile in this trough of garbage is astonishing.

I don't even know where to begin with this. I've read some of your replies and determined that you are way too biased to even listen to reason.
But I will say this, We already saw off a blue rising, we will see off another.

    1. It took reading all of it to find I am bias?, sure ill agree I am extremely bias but that does not mean I can speak the truth and use fact and history to prove my theory and opinion.

You're about to experience a much more powerful Blue Rising, what makes you think you're strong enough to beat this one?

    2. United Fan29/2/12

More powerful blue rising? More powerful than a Chelsea team that didn't have to worry about Financial Fair Play rules and brought some great players. Not to mention having one of the best managers in the game at the helm.
Chelsea during 2004-2007 are more powerful than the current Man City team and set up.

    3. Get a grip of your senses you bias United fan, the league is much more tougher now than back in 04-07 FACT 1

Manchester City have just matched the home win record and are set to smash that record.FACT 2

We have scored far more goals and conceeded far less goals than any Chelsea side at this point in the season FACT 3

Manchester City are much stronger in depth than any Chelsea side in 04-07 FACT 4

So City have not got great players either?

      Joe Hart
      Sergio Aguero
      David Silva
      Vincent Kompany
      Yaya Toure

You rags would love to have them all in your poxy side.

Thought provoking if a little TO one-sided piece which I broadly agree with & believe ME? I utterly DESPISE Manchester United but also have NO love for Man City so I guess I'm about as neutral as you can get on here. Anyway the ONLY Issue I have with that article above? That economic bit? "The world is a much richer place" nowadays is it? PLEASE, to the idiot who wrote or dreamed up THAT little piece of UTTER rubbish? Be Honest in future. The fact nowadays is that the world is VERY Far from a Much richer place as you assert - In actual fact? The world is NOW? As rich as it was 20 years or even 40 years ago - THE big difference is?

That the wealth is now CONCENTRATED In the hands of a small & increasingly decreasing circle of rich families, individuals etc and the VAST majority in that world? Are getting less & less of said wealth WHILE prices of living etc go UP without respite - On another note; A continuation of THAT? WILL lead to riots & the rich few being overthrown & UTTERLY destroyed in the INEVITABLE backlash of riots, anarchy & all out WAR against that rich class to come - As surely as putting a match to a bomb WILL blow it up but THAT? Is all for the future......

Anyway as to City? Your owner just HAPPENS to be a member/head of one of THE richest families of all & you ONLY have him? By a sheer accident that led to you being owned by him - Please DON'T insult our intelligence by insisting it's anything OTHER Than that - You're NOT where you are due to the WORLD being much richer but in fact? MUCH Of it being FAR poorer but one of the FEW rich parts of that world? Taking a fancy to your club & buying it. To insist anything else is crass, insulting to other's intelligence & above ALL? Wrong. City are great right now & for the foreseeable but the way they GOT there? Was entirely by accident. Will they STAY there long enough to become ANOTHER Arsenal/Liverpool/United style SUPER club of the past? We shall see - On THAT one? Time will tell, Sooner or later - Time WILL tell...............

    1. First off I'm a little tired of explaining why I'm one sided, I'm not here to brown nose the opposition. however I'm not afraid to gift it if they deserve praise or credit.

The world is as I said it is like it or not, the world has far more banks, far more millionaires, billionaires even, far more rich business and global organisations, just because a few countries are still third world or poor or in debt does not change that fact.

Clubs like Real Madrid, AC Milan and United benefited early on when Italian Ministers and Jewish Americans started pumping money into their clubs on a scale which humiliated public limited income.

We are just joining the ranks of the rich because it is the only way to beat them.

If you can't beat them, then join them to beat them.

BTW to the United fans on here? One of the things I DO agree with from the Writer? HOWever much you INSIST "it will change/United will NEVER fall/We ALWAYS come back"? Let me tell you this - As a Liverpool Fan? ALL Empires (and that INCLUDES one day the one YOU are building at City to) WILL fall in time. United can go to the well of "oh we ALWAYS score/comeback/have the knowhow to win the league" ALL they like but one day? They WON'T have - The drink on which they draw FROM that well of hope? WON'T last forever - I should know. I saw MY team dominate EVERYTHING for 14 odd years in my early life after ANOTHER near 15 years BEFORE I was born doing precisely the same but in the end? We lost it ALL - The players, the knowhow, the trophies they brought to us.

In short - In the end DESPITE Their money, worldwide appeal, knowhow - the Sir Alex factor, the media being DESPERATE for it NOT to happen etc? Time is THE one thing Ferguson cannot defeat. The same thing that happened to Liverpool & Arsenal WILL happen to United & another will rise to take THEIR place at the very top as THEY once took over OURS - AFTER we abdicated - They contrary to what Fergie once said? Had NOTHING to do with our fall - It was all our own work. In short United fans? Cherish it WHILE you've got it & enjoy EVERY Moment as one day? It WILL be gone & another will be up there in your place & WHEN(Not if) that happens? Who KNOWS how long it will take you to get back. The same goes for City as well - WHEN You get there as you inevitably will? Enjoy EVERY moment of it as things can change in football VERY quickly & you'll NEVER Know WHAT you had until it's gone............................

BTW Cityblue? You can brag ALL you like about City being strong indepth than the Chelsea 04-07 side but THEY? As well as PROVING they were one of THE best teams in the world AT that time & backing UP what they said with actions? HAVE the trophies to PROVE It in ANY subsequent discussion like this - Other than the FA Cup? What do City have right now? UNTIL you HAVE the silverware under your belt? Your boasts about your club should NOT write cheques the FACTS can't cash - Being a Liverpool fan I should know that - Yes we boast like United fans & FEW others get to but then? We're ENTITLED to given WHAT we've done down the years no? We're MORE successful than ANY club in britain in terms of trophies won & FAR out ahead of the pack in European Trophies to - We're one of THE powerhouses of Europe in fact in terms of trophies won.

Man' City? NEED to GET there before bragging about it but WHEN they do? Brag all you like - Just save all that? UNTIL then is all I'm saying - After you've DONE it? Brag all you like - You'll have the RIGHT to & who knows to have ANOTHER up there at the VERY top with us & United? Might make a change - WILL you do it? Well, we shall see soon enough...............

No worries mate; I Don't feel insulted - I Just THINK you've misrepresented the situation a bit - There is STILL the same amount of money & maybe a BIT more than before yes so in a sense you Were correct. I Just think NOW? What there IS? Is MORE unevenly distributed than EVER. Nowadays? It's concentrated FAR more in the hands of the few (who might have MORE divisions AMONGST themselves but? Are on the whole a group that is getting SMALLER as time goes on not bigger).

This is something that in the end? WILL prove a VERY bad thing for society in the long run & quite possibly lead to it's RUIN if you ask me. Not REALLY a world I want my 2 year old son growing up in but we make the best of it. Agree re' the can't beat them/join them remark. Makes me laugh at people slating MY side Liverpool actually because in a sense? That's PRECISELY what we've done with Fenway Sports Group.

They're an odd case FSG. Everyone THINKS we've only got John Henry ONE owner with not much money & can't DO that much but actually? The CLUE is in their title - Fenway is a GROUP of VERY rich (in cases) investors who are mostly silent with John? As their Spokesman (and one of the SMALLER investors actually). The fact ONE of the groups behind is owned by THE richest man on the planet bar none tells me we've a LOT more muscle behind us than many might think & of course? Given that we COULD have been WHERE Rangers are now less than TWO years ago & worse gone & utterly liquidated? I'm still just glad I DO have a club I suppose. We are where YOU were a couple of years ago when the Shiekh project started out in short. I only hope OUR rise/return to where we ONCE where? Ends up proving as meteoric as YOUR recent one has been..........................

NB BTW? It's Not the ONLY way to beat them by JOINING them. Barcelona, the Liverpool of Old (maybe the one we're building now I hope?), Ajax in the mid 90's & numerous other examples? SHOW it's possible to Beat them WithOUT joining them. Doing it over a Sustained period however? MIGHT prove more difficult............

    1. Liverpool of old had a pretty good academy and never had any real competition until United unfortunately turned up, Ajax never had to open a check book because they have always had an extremely good academy, better than Barcelona's at one point.

Manchester City are a rare case and no other club will rise as financially fast due to the FFP rules, though that dues not mean other clubs can not follow.

For example a rich buyer comes in for a Championship side worthy of taking the big step due to having good enough gate numbers and a good foundation, they have no worries about the FFP because their first job is to break into the Premier League and fight for survival.

Only have to look at Newcastles revival to porve my point, there will always be a certain level of imbalance no matter where you are in the world.

I'm not one that visions the downfall of the English Premier League due to big money, the banks would have to all fall on their swords and die for any real damage to be done and that won't be happening what so ever.
