A Look At How Fortunes Change, A Call For Manchester City Fans To Be Patient!

History is an important part of football especially when it sorts out the good eggs from the bad eggs.

Some ignore history or even twist and fabricate it to serve a purpose and one such club and fanbase to deceive the world was and is Manchester United FC.

In 1892 Manchester City known then as Ardwick AFC joined the Second Division, United known then as Newton Heath followed City into the Second Division two years later.

In 1894 Ardwick AFC changed their name to Manchester City FC and became the club to represent all of Manchester, in 1898 Manchester City gained promotion to the First Division.

Newton Heath on the other hand were selling their best player while under serious financial problems, in 1901 they had to raise £1000 to avoid bankruptcy and Manchester City FC tried to help Newton Heath by making a donation.

In 1901-02 Manchester City FC were relegated to the Second Division but regained promotion to the First Division finishing 2nd place in 1903-04.

By 1902 Newton Heath was in three times as much debt and one businessman Harry Stafford along with three other rich businessmen decided to buy Newton Heath.

That same year Newton Heath were renamed Manchester United FC which undermined Manchester City FC and became the biggest fabricated lie in footballing history.

The Football Association found City's swift rise as an abnormality and decided to investigate and tried to use Manchester City FC as an example to other football clubs, they only found minor irregularities so the case was dropped.

By this time many First Division football clubs were reportedly paying players bonuses for performance which was breaking the golden rule set by the Football Association that no player would earn more than £4 per week.

City continued to challenge for the First Division title and the FA launched another investigation against Manchester City FC, seventeen Manchester City players were fined and suspended from playing professional football until 1907.

The Football Association forced Manchester City FC to sell all their unplayable players to raise the cash to pay the fines, An auction was established to sell the players and four of Manchester Citys most talented players were purchased by Manchester United namely Billy Meredith, Herbert Burgess, Sandy Turnbull and Jimmy Bannister.

This ended Manchester City's golden era reportedly thanks to Billy Meredith for telling the FA that City were paying their players bonuses in a bid of retaliation for City turning their back on him after he was reportedly found trying to match fix.

This started off Manchester United's golden era, you could say from the blood, sweat and tears of Manchester City FC.

Manchester City FC continued to fight the good fight and gave their all for City's ever ready support giftng us two First Division Titles and three more FA Cups but we never could shake the 'Typical City'.

Now the tables have turned and Manchester United are again in debt, but this time so much debt they are unavoidably heading for tough times. Strong reports suggest their owners, The Glazer family are heading for financial ruin in the United States of America, while on the other hand Manchester City FC are the richest club in the world thanks to one Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

It will no doubt take a season or two for City to get going just like, it will take a season or two for United to fall on their own sword once and for all.

Find a little more patience and join me in enjoying every single bit of our bright blue future.
