Where will Sane play under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City?

German wonderkid Leroy Sane looks set to make the move from Shalke to Manchester City for approximately £35m. Where will Pep’s fourth major signing of the summer fit into the City team?

Leroy Sane

Sane is a predominantly left footed player capable of playing anywhere across a front 3. For Shalke he has mainly been used as a right winger cutting inside to great effect.

It is this position that Pep has him down for.

Pep Guardiola’s style of play

Thierry Henry did an excellent piece on Pep’s style of play in a Monday Night Football piece on Sky Sports. Henry mentions the 3 P’s that make up Guardiola’s philosophy.

Play, possession and position.

To see how Sane will fit in watch Henry’s discussion and compare them to the clips of Sane

You’ll see that Sane often holds his position wide on the left until the final 3rd being released to devastating effect, just as Henry describes Pep Guardiola’s demands.

At 20 years old Sane already plays to Pep’s demands and will only get better with the Spaniard’s coaching.

Who’s place will he take?

An admission: I like Jesus Navas. Watching City under Pellegrini the team, in my opinion, was better with him in the team than without. Navas created a structure to the team and just by staying out wide he created space for the likes of Silva and De Bruyne.

Navas got into position to create many chances and last season was one of the highest number of assists in the side (7 in the Prem league). His pace and willingness to track back was an asset in the team and his workrate helped Sagna (who for me was player of the season) on that right hand side.

However there is one glaring area where Navas fails.

In 33 Premier League games Jesus scored 0 goals!

For an attacking player in an attacking team that is not good enough (we scored more Premier League goals than anyone else!). Navas should be looking to score around 10 goals, the much derided Raheem Sterling scored 6 whilst Kevin De Bruyne scored 7 in a bad year for City.

Navas v Sane

Goal scoring is where Leroy Sane has a major edge over Jesus Navas. For a Shalke team, that only scored 51 goals finishing in 5th place last season, Sane scored 8 times, whilst also assisting 6 times (only one less than Navas).

Both players played a similar number of minutes last season, let’s see how they compared

• Successful Take-on’s: Navas 48, Sane 92

Leroy Sane has been described as a dribble king and from these you can see why. Pep style of play is to build a team to create one on ones. Sane would fit perfectly into this.

• Shots: Navas 31, Sane 68

So Sane took more than twice as many shots as Navas last season. Not a major surprise as Navas seems to lack confidence in front of goal often passing rather than taking the shot.

• Passes: Navas 1267, Sane 615

An area where Navas destroys Sane! Maybe due to the team style, maybe due to Sane’s different style of play being more likely to dribble, take-on and shoot. Probably an area where he will change in a Pep Guardiola side which usually have a high level of possession and passes.

• Aerial duals won: Navas 9, Sane 27

Ok not an important stat for a winger but Sane is over 6ft tall so will improve a forward line of 5ft 8 Aguero and 5ft 7 Sterling.

Finances

Sane’s cost of around £35m will be frowned upon much as Raheem Sterling’s fee was (it is City after all – no one else spends money!). However recent reports suggest Navas could be back off to Sevilla for £15m.

If this was the case it could be a great bit of squad upgrade with swapping a 30 year old Navas for a 20 year old Sane who assists the same and scores a lot more for a net spend of £20m.

Txiki you’re not doing a bad job after all.

(Did I just say net spend? – I’m turning into an Arsenal fan!).

Win the New Manchester City Nike Home Shirt

This Competition is only open to UK participants, we apologise for this.

Our friends at Mancitygifts.com with the Official City Store, have launched a new competition for one lucky City fan to win the new Nike home shirt.
All you have to do to enter is go to the Mancitygifts Competition page here and answer a simple question.

Revealed at the Cityzen's weekend in early July, together with City's new manager Pep Guardiola, the new Nike home shirt has had a mixed reception.

Pep Guardiola reveal

Some fans dislike the addition of navy to the sleeves of the shirt, whilst others are unhappy that the shirt is a "template" design. The Nike Aeroswift Template has been used in almost all Nike shirts are this season, with both Portugal and France wearing the template in the 2016 European Championships final.

However many of these reservations were down to grainy images pre-launch and the shirts have got a more favorable reaction since being officially revealed.

What do you think of the new shirt? Have you bought it after changing your mind? Let us know in the comment section below.

Two 16 year old Players sign for Manchester City FC, Garre and Gonzalez are living their dreams

Two players have gone unnoticed due to being 16 years old, over shadowed by City's senior acquisitions. The first of the two is Benjamin Garre. His former club Velez are apparently not happy about losing their prodigy and have complained to Fifa.

Benjamin Garre will be joining Manchester City from Argentine Primera Division Velez Sarsfield, Manchester City are reported to have beaten FC Barcelona and Snubchester United to his signature. The 15 year old will join the City Football Academy after admitting on his Facebook page. "I'm going after a dream, to one of the best academies in the world, with the conviction that my football will develop". "That a club like Manchester City is interested in me makes me proud and while I understand that some may see it as wrong, it is a challenge I have to take, thinking of my career."

I can only presume he's referring to Velez Sarsfield and their fans, he spent time training at Carrington with United in 2014 but Garre decided to not join United. FC Barcelona were also reported to have been after the lad. He also spoke to Argentinian Radio station La Pelota al 10 saying: "I won't let this opportunity with City pass. Every player dreams of it. It's a gift from God. Going to Manchester City was a great opportunity. I decided with my Family it was the best place to go."

He was born January 1st 2000, is a right footed Attacking Midfielder, Orgulloso.es claim the lad has a strong physique which is unusual at such a young age and has good ball control. Being at a young age there isn't much information about him outside of Velez Sarsfield. Benjamin is the Grandson of Oscar Alfredo Garre, an Argentine Legend and Defender who won the 1986 World Cup. Benjamin Garre wore the No10 shirt for Velez Sarsfield

Battle of the Somme tribute, We thank you all for the sacrifice you made

The Somme Trenches
We want to thank the brave who fought and gave their lives for us against the Germans, more so for those who gave their lives in the face of certain death. True hero's and legends of war, World War I in a time when our Soldiers fought with Bayonets, with Mounted Cavalry on War Horses and the Tank in service for the first time. School boys in trenches fighting to protect us, their lives were given for the British Empire, for Great Britain.

Tank Command

Not forgetting those who also gave their lives in World war II, those who survived and those who contributed, we salute you.

3 Years After I Were Born, 1978 Look Behind The Scene At Manchester City's Maine Road

Iheanacho Deserves To Be First 11, Pellegrini Is A Legend Already, Guardiola City Bound, Pardew? Nicolas?

First off I'd like to start with Kelechi Promise Iheanacho, I've grown rather frustrated with Pellegrini for this. Hearing how we have to be patient etc, no one was ever patient when throwing the over hyped Wayne Rooney in the deep end at Everton or Lionel Messi at Barcelona, so why Iheanacho when he's more than proven he deserves to be in the first eleven. One things for sure, Pep Guardiola has himself one hell of a young forward to nurture.I hope Kelechi is added to our Champions League roster, but fear he will miss out. Here's hoping Pellegrini will make the right choice, the lad deserves nothing less.

As much as I've said and wanted Manuel Pellegrini out over this season and last, he still has 100% respect from me for what he's achieved and could achieve. I don't think what Manuel offers is enough for Manchester City going forward though, what Pep Guardiola will bring is what I strongly believe Manchester City need. He's a young, well decorated, well respected coach who's managed the biggest player in the world in Lionel Messi. Pellegrini and Mancini before him concentrated on either defending or attacking, neither value both equally unlike Guardiola. Mancini was more defencive minded relying on Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero to catch opponents out whereas Pellegrini's more Attack minded leaving our defenders vulnerable. Luckily we have Otamendi because I truly believe if we didn't, then we'd probably be out of the title race by now without Otamendi and Kompany.

So Manuel Pellegrini has finally made the decision to go public, stating he will leave our club at the end of the 2015/16 season with best wishes. For the past few weeks I've been hoping for this very situation to unfold, the speculation was just frustrating to say the least. This way Pellegrini is telling us he knows where he stands and has said himself that the club have shown him nothing but respect.

Now all the speculation can be put to bed and our club can get back to work, Pellegrini has his CV to update with a possible treble winning season more than possible, our players now have to prove themselves once again before the new coach even takes over and fight too gift their outgoing coach the best leaving present he could ever wish for and go out on a high. You can be damn sure the players will know that Guardiola will be watching on his days off at Bayern, He's a methodical man that lives and breathes football,

And what better way for Pellegrini to go out than achieve an historical treble of the League Cup, FA Cup and Premier League?

Alan Pardew? The Crystal Palace Manager claims to feel for Pellegrini saying his first thought is with Manuel, then went on to say he hopes the club have done it the right way? Why feel for a coach that has won more than you ever have and has the opportunity to achieve an historical treble winning campaign? He could only wish for what Pellegrini has right now, the guy needs to feel sorry for himself instead. Wasn't long ago he was verbally abusing Pellegrini pitch side, seriously.

You'd think a Manager of a Premier League Football Club would be professional enough to be in the know, either that or just shut the hell up when they haven't got a clue what they're talking about.

On that note who the hell is Nicolas on Sky Sports? seriously who is he? in all my 40 years of breathing I haven't got a clue who he is. The guy seems to seriously think we can win the Champions League as it stands right now this season without Vincent Kompany? I honestly think we haven't a chance of winning it this season, I hope we go as far as possible but too win it? it would be a miracle and if we did I'd chain myself to the Etihad entrance until they renegotiated for Pellegrini to be resigned, if he achieved the as far as I'm concerned impossible, then he'd deserve to stay no matter what I think.

Nicolas claimed he thinks this was poor timing? What by our Club? How can it be poor timing when it was Pellegrini who made the decision to issue that he wouldn't be staying on at City next season? The club never forced him to do so, he stated himself that he was doing so to put a stop to the speculation on his position. The same speculation that was probably causing problems within our club, I'm pretty sure Manuel Pellegrini knows what he's doing more than this (just Googled him) Charlie Nicolas guy does. The idiot compares the situation to when Alex Ferguson announced he was leaving United? Do us all a favour and choose intelligent educated pundits that have a clue.

I on the other hand believe this has made our clubs position even stronger as stated here.

Onwards we March, one of the happiest Manchester City fans on the planet right now. I was slightly concerned by our clubs mounting injuries and the speculation issue but feel more optimistic.

How do you feel about what's unfolded?

HAVE YOUR SAY, New Badge? Final Consultation? Final Design Forced On You?

That's right, I feel Manchester City FC have sold out our history, we were formed in 1880 and not 1894. Yes I am fully aware St Marks aka Ardwick AFC became Manchester City in 1894, 8 years before Newton Heath became Manchester United. Not having 1880 on our badge is an almighty insult and slap in the face to St Marks of West Gorton, it is a disgrace that we do not celebrate their hard work and our history.

I believe it would have been better served if Manchester City FC, FOOTBALL CLUB, but we will deal with this in a moment, if Manchester City FC gave us fans a final consultation or a few badges to vote on instead of forcing an average and poorly designed Club Badge on us.

The Badge just looks like a cheap knock off of New York City's badge, but even NYCFC who are an American SOCCER club have Football Club in front of their Title? Sorry but the designers Manchester City FC employ need sacking, I'm an ex Art student and Artist myself so have plenty of experience to pass judgement not to mention having supported Manchester City since 1970's/1980's. as far as I'm concerned Manchester and City should never have been separated and Football Club should have still been present, it seems pretty clear to me that the minds behind this have a simple way of thinking. Design error No.1 you DON'T curve Manchester and then leave City un-curved, what were you thinking? that it makes some kind of statement or that it makes it stand out more?

I submitted a badge myself and even had a few other ideas like a small outer ring with Superbia in Proelio repeated all the way around within if not the ribbon below it as shown below. Yes I'm aware the three rivers are not present and I meant to add them but it's not something that can't be added so.

The only thing I like about the new badge is the outer ring which could be made a little larger to house Superbia in Proelio and the 3D design to it. Other than that it's an almighty failure as far as I'm concerned, so much so that I find myself compelled to abandon any future purchases of this new badge at the City Store and stick with my old shirts. Too buy anything with this new badge would mean I am ultimately conceding in buying something I do not like. You can say I'm spitting my dummy out and in all honesty I am I guess, but that's my choice but I'm intrigued to know how many other Manchester City fans feel the same.

So thumbs down on this one for me.

Feel free to have your say?

TIOC's Badge Redesign Idea For Manchester City FC, Thoughts?

For as long as I can remember I have dreamt of our club reverting back to our Retro Circular Club Badge, finally our club have decided to consult on a possible change with our fan base so I thought I'd get to work on a few ideas. I knew learning how to use Photoshop would come in useful so I'm glad I chose too, here are my idea's which I will submit.

I did one the same but without the Eagle, so what do you think City fans. For those new to City I'll explain, the Rose represents the Lancashire Rose, The Ship represents the Manchester Ship Canal and the 3 stripes represent Manchester's 3 rivers, The Irk, The Irwell and The Medlock. 1880 being the year St Mark's of West Gorton were founded who were later renamed Ardwick Association Football Club and then Manchester City Football Club. The Latin term 'Superbia in Proelio' means Pride in Battle.

I did some research into how the Eagle found it's way on to our crest, we know the Shield, Stripes, Rose and Ship were taken from the City of Manchester's Coat of Arms. The Latin motto was added by the club itself in 1997 along with the Stars which were just for show. Here I got rid of the pointless Stars but felt it worth keeping the Eagle.

An Eagle represents Courage, Strength and Immortality, so I hazard a guess that that is why it was chosen and incorporated.

What do you think? will you be submitting your own? Would you rather we stuck with the present, revert to the old Retro badge or something entirely new?

I'd still be happy even if we reverted back to the original Retro City badge of old but I equally like this Badge too.

Match Analysis: Pellegrini To Blame For Juventus Loss, Wrong To Drop Kelechi Iheanacho

As much as he has achieved for our club to date I have got to say I find Pellegrini tactically naive and prone to mistakes, he puts far too much trust in our players to just go out and destroy teams, he hesitates to make vital substitutions at important moments and is not animated enough on the touch line as far as I'm concerned. Yeah yeah I know he's qualified and I am not, before someone jumps on the bandwagon I don't play football games as I have a life to live. It doesn't take a qualified genius to see the mistakes made or the cracks opening up, here's where I believe it all started to go wrong.

Right from the start when Manuel Pellegrini all but destroyed Kelechi Iheanacho's perfect start to the season, I can only hope being dropped from our Champions League squad does not affect the kid negatively.

Lets face facts here we only have 3 strikers aka Sergio Aguero, Wilfried Bony and Kelechi Iheanacho, it was clearly stated by Pellegrini himself that Edin Dzeko was not replaced because we have Iheanacho, so why the hell drop Kelechi from our Champions League squad aye? We all know Sergio is carrying a knee issue and Wilfried Bony can't even hit the sky right now. I was so excited by the arrival of Bony but must say, I'm starting to get really frustrated with him right now. He was the worst player on the pitch against Juventus.

Wilfried Bony should have been replaced by Sergio Aguero immediately after half time, by bringing Aguero on for less than 10 minutes was just a complete and utter joke. Pellegrini was clearly hoping for Sergio to bag us a point, play for a bloody draw for crying out loud., either that or he was hoping for a repeat of our title winning miracle against QPR.

Taking Raheem Sterling off the field when Samir Nasri was useless, completely ended all hope of winning our opening Champions League match as far as I'm concerned. Why he isn't playing our strongest attacking lineup is baffling to say the least, there was no valid reason why we couldn't have played Kevin De Bruyne from the start? Why Nasri when he's proven he's only effective off the bench?  In my opinion our strongest attacking mid combo are Sterling, Silva, De Bruyne and all three are fit enough to play.

Yaya Toure is found wanting at times in Europe even with a solid Fernandinho backing him up, Fernando in place of Yaya would have given Silva, Sterling and De Bruyne more space in the final third.

Juventus smelt blood the moment Vincent Kompany forced an own goal against their main man Giorgio Chiellini, they felt robbed by the referee and upped the tempo. Pellegrini bottled it and substituted Kompany at the wrong time fearing he would end up injured, as great as Otamendi is, bringing him straight into the game at such a stupid time when he hasn't ever played a full game for City yet, was just asking for it and what happened? You know the rest. Otamendi should have been played from the start along side Kompany, but no Pellegrini cowards out not wanting to split up Kompany and Mangala and what happens? Mangala was to blame for Juve's equaliser after failing to pick up Mandzukic. A lot of City fans were up in arms in support of Mangala while I warned them Mangala would eventually come undone and start making big mistakes, I believe if Otamendi was started in place of Mangala and if Kompany wasn't taken off we would have won or at least drawn, Pellegrini dropping Iheanacho, his team selection and substitutions led to Juventus's second goal and victory.

On that note well done to Juventus for turning up as Chelsea, effective performance but second most utterly boring team I've ever had the privilege to have to watch. I'd rather watch Crystal Palace in the wind and rain, see you in Turin.

My team selection would have been Iheanacho, Sterling, Silva, De Bruyne, Yaya, Fernandinho, Sagna, Otamendi, Kompany, Kolarov, Hart. Substitutions: Sergio on in place of Sterling and Demichelis on in place of Kompany.

Manuel Pellegrini to blame but I hope he see's the error of his ways for City's sake.

Manchester City Rear Guard Still Not Right, A Cause For Concern?

Jose Angel Tasende (Angelino)

Every time Kompany and Mangala play together our Captain suffers, I don't believe Mangala is our answer to partnering Vinny at all. With Demichelis getting closer to retirement and only young Jason Denayer as potential at present. I feel somewhat underwhelmed by our lack of activity for a new experienced Centre Back. Here I have placed our players in the positions they can occupy to show a true picture of our strength in depth and positional strength. I really hope the Nicolas Otamendi rumour turns out to be true or we bring in a proven European Centre Back quick.

Goalkeeper: Hart / Caballero / Wright
Right Back: Zabaleta / Sagna
Centre Back: Kompany / Demichelis
Centre Back: Mangala / Denayer
Left Back: Clichy / Kolarov

Right Attacking Midfield: Sterling / Nasri / Lopes
Centre Midfield: Yaya Toure / Fernandinho
Centre Midfield: Delph / Fernando
Left Attacking Midfield: Silva / Iheanacho / Navas / Lopes

Centre Attacking Midfield: Silva / Iheanacho / Bony /Lopes
Striker: Bony / Iheanacho / Aguero / Sterling

This tells me one thing, we are one Centre Attacking Midfielder short, we are also weak at both Wing Back positions and at Centre Back. I'm not at all convinced by Sagna as well as Mangala and Kolarov's defencive ability is not exactly doing Mangala any favours either. We are for the majority of time attacked on our left which highlights how weak City are in that position. Clichy is past his best to say the least so we need Wing Backs super fast, the only Wing Back we have that I have faith in is Zabaleta. One good plus to all this defencive mess is, that we have young Left Back Angelino (Jose Angel Tasende) coming through the ranks and currently on loan at New York City FC.

I am deeply concerned with the season ahead, if we don't strengthen now I see us possibly losing the title race yet again considering the underwhelming emphasis Pellegrini puts on our defencive play. Chelsea clearly showed last season that playing from the back is needed to grind out results. You can't always outscore everyone especially when they always park the bus like most seem to do against us, what do you think of all this?

Homegrown Quota, Sterling And Our Lack Of Activity So Far, The Scouser's Egg On Face

As the Sterling saga rumbles on I have found myself warming to the idea of him in a City shirt, in the beginning I thought Raheem wasn't worth the sky high price tag. Weighing up the pro's and con's though and looking closer at his progression since signing for the Scouser's, makes the Sterling capture more palatable.

Questions I asked myself were?

Why are Liverpool fans acting like Arsenal fans and treating Sterling the way they are?

Answer: Because they are upset about losing a big player with the quality and youth to succeed at the highest level. Initially I was buying into their idea that he was still raw, that he wasn't worth the £50 million so they should sell him fast, but then I started to pay more attention to Sterling. I 've been rerunning footage of the last few seasons and I have to say, he's not the finished product but he's certainly not raw. Has youth on his side and has bags of potential, under the right environment and coaches he could be up there with the best.

Do we really need him at Manchester?

Well as we are all aware we are subject to a homegrown quota both domestically and in Europe, yes we have our own youth products in Jason Denayer and Marcos Lopes but they are not wingers. In Raheem we would have an already proven and established England International LEFT WINGER. We just lost James Milner to Liverpool, a situation Liverpool fans are being smug over and haven't been exactly reserved about it. Add to that that Liverpool fans have taken the proverbial out of Manchester City and our fans, after capturing Sturridge by claiming we can't produce talent and we don't give youth a chance. Signing Raheem Sterling would make for a much more palatable capture right about now. We need a left winger to replace James Milner and share the workload with Samir Nasri, signing Sterling would be one almighty slap in the face for Liverpool fans.

Sign Sterling: YES

Our lack of activity? 9 days in to the transfer window and we have only signed Enes Unal, a young Turkish International Forward from Bursaspor. A lot of potential apparently and on first impressions he looks like a good capture but he's a couple seasons behind a first team place, so don't expect to see him in action along side our greats just yet.

Another Englishman we're apparently after signing is Fabian Delph from Aston Villa, the word is he apparently out performed our very own Fernandinho last season.

Fernandinho made 33 appearances in 2014/15 scoring 3 goals
Delph made 23 appearances in 2014/15 scoring 2 goals

I'm sorry but I'm against Fabian Delph joining Manchester City, he isn't anywhere near good enough. I would never pick him over Fernandinho, but I do see the urgent need for someone better in that position. The Pogba saga has died down after our apparent U'turn walking away, on that note I'm kind of glad because he's not worth the reported £71 million when we can go out and buy just as good for much less. Pogba's teammate Arturo Vidal for £30 to £40 million for instance. We have too much up and coming talent to positively warrant the signing of Fabian Delph. Bringing in 28 year old Arturo Vidal wouldn't hinder our very own Marcos Lopes either, lets be honest Marcos Lopes will end up far a better player than Fabian Delph. I say Vidal and promote Lopes.

Sign Delph: NO

What do you think?

This is our City's Message To Real Madrid CF Concerning Sergio Aguero

Message to Real Madrid CF concerning Sergio Aguero or any other of our star players like David Silva, Joe Hart etc etc etc, and this goes for any other club sniffing at our door for our best.

What Goes Around Comes Around Jerome, Boateng Got A Bit Messi

Remember that flop German defender who turned up at Carrington in 2010?, goes by the name of Jerome Boateng and got sold on as quick as he arrived the following year. I do and I seem to remember him mouthing off in the media about us and sniggering on the field of play when Bayern beat us, not that we didn't get our own back and beat them too but here you go.

What goes around comes around son, Karma's a bitch, should have stayed humble instead of acting like a superstar plank, lets face it you are just an average player surrounded by better players who make you look better than you are.

He was recently humiliated by none other than the footballing god Lionel Messi who just so happens to be best friends with another footballing god  Sergio Aguero. Come on City sign him up, sign him up.

U21 Manchester City Lift The Premier League International Cup Defeating FC Porto

Manchester City once again make history by being the first U21 side to lift the Premier League International Cup by defeating FC Porto B 1-0 who ply their trade in the Portuguese Segunda Liga, the equivalent of England's Championship League 1.

Kelechi Iheanacho scoring the only goal of the match, a future forward for our first team without a shadow of doubt what so ever.

The Premier League International Cup is a new competition for under 21 and elite development teams from all over Europe.

Manchester City defeated Schalke, Benfica, Celtic, Leicester City and Porto, which marks an historic moment for the club and Manchester City's youth academy. But more importantly it highlights the huge influence and work Patrick Vieira and his team have achieved to date, another step in the journey of our club. But it never would have been possible without the contribution of one man and his team, all hail Jim Cassell, the man that put our academy on the map for Sheikh Mansour to see.

All our lads were standout performers but the ones that excite me are Olivier Ntcham, Brandon Barker, Kelechi Iheanacho and Seko Fofana.

Congratulations to everyone involved.

Why Couldn't City Win Without Yaya, Fortune Is Finally Shining Bright At City

Why have Manchester City struggled to win without Yaya Toure present, although we got our first win without Yaya Toure this season against Stoke. The past games have been disappointing with Fernando and Fernandinho in midfield, as of yet Fernando has achieved nothing to justify why we bought him. Fernandinho is a shadow of the player he was last year, Nasri being out injured has clearly been one factor that added to Yaya's absence and our struggles, David Silva has also been out injured so justifiably hasn't been anywhere near his magical form until now, Lampard is another question, why loan him if we aren't going to use him in the absence of Yaya Toure?  Navas is finally finding good form but until now had been appalling, James Milner has been a shining light in an otherwise dark moment for City and pretty much single-handedly kept us in the title ace for sure.

Sergio is back from injury and only just finding his form which is also understandable, Dzeko has barely started one match since October. Stevan Jovetic has been injured a fair bit but has also disappointed, being dropped from the Champions League was harsh but someone had to make way. It was only ever going to be Jovetic or Dzeko, Jovetic's injury record evidently came back to haunt him.

Vinnie has been poor by his very high standards to date, One definitive reason why we have struggled. Luckily for City and us City fans we've weathered the worst of the season, finally our players are starting to find form at the right time and pull it together, with Yaya Toure back and the exciting addition of Wilfried Bony finally arriving we are well on our way to take the fight to Chelsea.

Yaya has the uncanny ability to thread thread perfect passes through to the likes of Silva in the hole, he also links up well with Zabba making those runs in behind the full back. Fernandinho has attempted to take on this roll since Yaya has been away but he's struggled to find the right pass.

The other problem this season is that teams were finding a way to frustrate us by getting well organised and defending deeper by parking the bus, leaving us very little space to get in behind between the defenders and the goalkeeper. I know this is a dangerous game plan but it's making it difficult to get our attacking players goal side which is our strength. On many occasions we were limited to shooting from outside the box, which Yaya does best. We need to find a way to draw opponents out since they park the bus against us at home and sometimes away. Cough,Cough Chelsea.

I and CiTyBlUe are in agreement that we desperately need a plan B and C, CiTyBlUe is of the mind that Wilfried Bony will give us a plan B. We are also in agreement that our failings have not just been down to Yaya Toure being absent, but more that our players have been out of form and we have been dealt a few too many very bad decisions by match officials.

What's your opinion?, have your say.
